Charged a few things in the car and debating on risking the roads tomorrow on the I-20 outta here, gotta research the gas situation though.

Highways in dfw look clean surface streets are rough. Home depot is open, a couple gas stations and that's about it.

NOTHING open in my town. NOTHING. No gas. No grocery. What a world. Lots of confused drivers at Walmart.

FW with boil water notice. Some there can get no water. We filled up everything we could get our hands on, even a crockpot. Ain't running out of water here. No way. No how.

I actually LOVE this. Just not right now. When y'all are down from an EMP, Texas will be going strong. We're EMP insulated.

My wife was talking about this last night. I'd never heard it until then.

Reports of people in need of oxygen not getitng it due to power issues.Imagine a loved one needing oxygen delivered via electronic device. That'd be one hekcuva CPR session trying to keep them oxygenated.

I'll bet people become preppers after this situation. The people people used to laugh at are going to become the people they used to laugh at.

I'm very disappointed I wasn't better prepared for a situation like this. My job to keep my family ahead of the curve and I dropped the ball on this.

All the schools are already closed for tomorrow, including local colleges. Forecast calls for 8-12 inches
overnight, blowing and drifting, etc. Went and bought gas for the snow blower, we just went to the grocery
Friday, so.....let it snow!

City of Grapevine sent out notices to residents that power may not be back until Wednesday and invited people to try to find family and friends in other towns to stay with. INSANE.

mikeintopeka To answer your question, Yes. The renewable wind and solar power generation is great when the wind blows, and the sun shines. However, those can not keep up with 24/7 demand. The fact that your power company is shutting off the best clean energy supplier ( nuclear power) in favor of the "green energy" tells the world that they really don't care if you freeze in the winter or melt in the summer just as long as they can say 'We're green' and collect government subsidies for the wind and solar farms.

Unacceptable! I hope you're not on the Grand Prairie plan. Advising people to try to find family and friends to stay with.

Saying those who have no power should expect no power back. Those with no interruptions to expect no interruptions, and those with rolling blackouts to expect them to keep coming, maybe with longer intervals. We just had 12 minutes of downtime. Longest I've seen, but it was preceded by 20 minutes, or so of up time.
