rsvman2 Great round!! I always feel like IF I'm going to take a high score on a hole, I'd rather do it early and know that I can settle down and play steady the rest of the way, rather than have a lousy finish. Believe me, we've all done it both ways!!

85 at Fox Hollow. Not a good ball striking day, but won all 3 matches and a greenie. Half a tuna sandwich on toasted wheat with a cup of clam chowder for lunch. Beautiful morning here in Florida today. It was 62 and low humidity when we went out at 7:37.

One of members walked in after 4 holes yesterday. I thought something was wrong. He said he just hit it all over the place, was awful, just decided he had enough. He said the final blow was he had 170 over a little pond and was hitting his irons so bad he didn’t want to go for it with his 7 iron so he figured he’d go sw-sw instead. He bladed the first sw and chunked the next one in the pond.

Not that I played today, but a trend I noticed a while back that finally caught up with me.
I could almost call in my game from bed - "mark me down for an 86 boys!" - and stay home. While not a terrible score, its a rather lackluster one to trend on. Here it was...

86, 86, 86, 86, 88, 87, 86, 86, 85, 86, 89.

Its now knocked off all of my 'good' scores and my handicap jumped. So its accurate, but still disheartening. 🙁

hobbit I was stuck on 84 for about two years. No matter what! So if I shot 38 on the front I wold shoot 46 on the back, and if I started with 45 I would shoot 39 on the back.
I would come home from playing and my sons would say 'Lemme guess, you shot 84.'
I wish I would've kept track of how many 84's in a row I shot. Eventually I broke the cycle.

Monday morning golf group - I went from the Penthouse (was low scratch 2 - 3 times this year) to the Outhouse by posting an 85 for the high score. Very few pure solid strikes with the irons in my hands. Mediocre putting. It could have been really ugly if I wasn't straight and average distance for me off the tee consistently all day.

I'll keep on playing in our Chamber of Commerce beautiful weather for a few more weeks. There's no way I'm going into hibernation with bad play on the mind all winter.

I shot 41-39-80 today. My back and neck were stiff and sore all the way around, and I felt that my range of motion was very poor.....like the geezer I'm getting to be, you might say. I made all the deadly sins today: 1 penalty stroke, a 3 putt green, and a double bogey. I did manage one birdie, but not much else to write home about. Played a nice course in good condition though.....a course called White Pines in Swanton, Ohio.

Went around twice yesterday. First time, I was put on standby for a trip to the vet while on hole 4. Got told that the trip to the vet was a go on 6. Caught up with the two groups ahead of me on 8, so I headed out to deal with the horse. Shot a 26 on those 7 holes.
When I was able to get back and go around again, putter seemed to be on fire, I was sinking almost everything, on 4 I drained a 10-13' putt with a right to left break for par. # 6 was 15-20' r-l break sank for par. I was scoring 4's across the course, until 9 when I just couldn't hit shit, not even my wedges. 5 iron off the tee it went 170 yards right up to the fence surrounding the putting green, bladed a wedge over the green, almost did the same thing going back the other way but got on the green. Then I 4 putted for a 7. Got a 39, not unhappy with that, I was extremely consistent through the first 8 on that second time around

Shot a 79 on a very easy course. 66.7/107 5763 yards par 71from the tips. At least I hit a few good shots and did hit 13 of 13 fairways on a not that wide open course. But driving hasn't been my problem. My only thought was to get to a full finish. Still lots of weak spots in my game , but a little light at the end of the tunnel before we head to Vegas and Utah for some serious golf.

77 at Timber Greens. Had one birdie. Won one match and tied the other two. Lost three greenies. Overall lost a buck. Cup of seafood gumbo and a half tuna sandwich for lunch. Beautiful day.

83 today in our Thursday skins game. Different mentality in this format. Gotta make birdies. All my potential skins were matched, unfortunately.
