Got back from the Ocean City MD golf trip yesterday. Usually we luck out with really good weather, but not so much this time. Saturday was warm enough, but really windy at River Run GC. I struggled with driver but was low score at 90 and cashed 2nd with my teammate.
Sunday at Rum Pointe looked like it was going to be another warm day, but it was so windy that it didn't feel warm. I was again low at 93 (worst round I've ever had there), but the pins were tucked or on slopes that were just ridiculous with all that wind. That said my swing really sucked and I think we all over indulged the night before. Cashed 2nd again.
Monday was at Ocean City GC Newport Bay. It was supposed to be 50's, but there was no way without the sun and even windier conditions. CPO was a huge pain in the azz on this course, but hardly anyone was out there so at least we moved along. I butchered the front with 47, but managed the wind on the back 9 for a 42. Cashed 2nd. Low round again, but my index is 12 and the rest of the group ranges from 16 to 23.
Tuesday was supposed to be at Baywood Greens about an hour north of OC, but we got there and decided to take the rain check. It was sunny, but the temp was maybe 36* and there were gusting winds of 45 mph....and it was CPO again. We set balls on the practice green and watched the wind blow them. Too bad as it's a really nice course, but every time we go there it just gets colder and windier. We may try to come back some weekend in the Spring.
