Got out for a very quick nine this morning... They had an event on the front and I went off the back. Had the course entirely to myself.

My range finder battery was dead and some of the holes didn't even have 150-yard markers, so judging distance was decidedly old school. Weather was nice; upper 70s, mild breeze.

I hit 6 greens, got up and down once on a missed green. Missed every birdie putt; on 16,17, and 18 I had good looks from 13-16 feet. Missed them all.

Still, 6 greens with no three-putts, and up and down once yielded a nice 38. Had a great time. The only people I saw were the guys on the mowers.

KCee Ha! No not with the P7TW blades! I had 180 slightly uphill. Old school lofts and steel DG 120 shafts so is like a manual transmission vs an automatic!😁

Dew loop. Got out as a single this morning and finished 18 in 1 hour 40 minutes. 5 over 77. Confidence inspiring round. No thinking, just swing. 2 birdies, 7 bogeys.

Never even beat the temp @ 72*. And that dropped when the rain started the last 3 holes.
Not a good putting day at all with having 30. Hit too many GIRs maybe.🤔

Not liking the high flight/short distances from these Maltby TS1 irons heads. Could be the R flex shafts, but am going to have lofts checked and strengthened, along with lie angles reset. I can hit them well and the shots look/feel like they are great, then....short again. Too much air/height which may be a shaft fault.

Eguller I've eliminated the age factor😆.

Thinking the shafts, but will get lofts checked anyway. They are not the 'modern' strong, maybe only 1* more than what 'used to be' modern. IYKWIM

edit: just rechecked the lofts on their website. These are some weakassed lofts, almost old school.😲 No wonder.

Par4QC I sort of thought they were still a bit strong. Prefer a 30* 6i myself. Can always hit it lower easily enough.

KCee jmo, but maybe they got the weighting incorrect for the lofts. The 32* 7i goes really high, as do the shorter irons. Haven't hit the 6i yet(28.5), forgot I had it🤔.

With today's super strong lofting, they've moved the weighting lower for higher launch. These are not the super strong lofts. So imo, they should not be going this high. Or short.😉
And to top it off, I've used a soft tip shaft, not realizing.
I'll try a stronger loft, then may still have to change shafts.

Par4QC I didn't care as much for the TS1 or TS2. They were fine, but no love. I really like the TS1-IM a lot. Much better feel and performance IMO.

I used to balloon my irons constantly, but I changed my swing a # of years ago and probably deloft them too much now lol. I also have DG105 in my irons and probably should go back to graphite or something like the DG Mid. My fitter always said the shaft doesn't change your shot height as much as your swing, but I think it all adds up.

I failed to mention my disappointment from yesterday's round.

The course we played has, imo, the best greens in the whole QC area. Not hard/fast, not soft/slow. Goldilocks greens perhaps. And they are always kept in great condition; no bare spots/disease, always green, ball marks (generally) repaired by staff, it seems.
But yesterday, they were bordering nasty, as far as repairs.(jmo, but maybe should be closed after our big rains...too many deep marks??) Then we were following a group of 4 that was marking up the greens, esp. around the cup, or so we thought until we played through them. We then got behind a 2 some and found they were the culprits. Just horrible scuffs. No way to repair/tamp them all.

Then to top it off, whoever set the pins had a real boner/hatred for anything golf. I've played that course the past 25+ years and never, ever saw the pins set where they were...on any of the greens. Right in the heart of where most approach shots land, with all the unrepaired marks! And a lot of those pins were set only 5-6' on, front or side. Some on side slopes. Some near bunkers. They truly picked the worst spot on every green.

No, you cannot 'discuss' this with management at this course. They won't smile & say 'we'll look into it'. They get pissed off.

Maybe they were holding a Superintendent’s Revenge outing of some sort …….. or they knew you were headed their way. 🤣

Eguller I hadn't been there for 2 weeks or more, and I was just shocked on that 1st green.
Then pissed after I saw what someone had done setting pins. Knowing the course well, I could call out 2 holes ahead as to where the pin would be. And right every time!!

Had I shot Par or under, I would have walked into the clubhouse after and asked for my check. For beating the Super.😉

77 at Timber Greens. Three birdies. Made a couple of dumb mistakes that cost me. Another good ball striking day. Hit a couple of 7 irons from ~ 150 that were nice. Haven’t played here in awhile. Excellent shape as usual.

After a 20 day hiatus from touching a club, got out yesterday morning at 7am . Started surprisingly strong and was -1 after 6. Then +4 over 7/8/9.
Fatigue set in and fatted a whack of irons on the back but short game and 9 one putts over 18 holes and ended up with a decent 77.

Feeling it today and had to open the course at 6 am. Thankfully a rain shortened shift of 4.5 hrs.
Not sure how I will manage 9 rounds over 6 days at Desert Storm....but will do my best

Shot 45/47 today. Probably about average for me. Two bad holes did me in. Several of the greens were in poor shape after the extended heat waves we had in the last month. Yet other greens were just fine.

A beautiful day in Missouri. Upper 70's/low 80's and sunny with a light breeze. We got around in about 3:45. After the first hole we never had to wait and there was no one behind us.

I think I’m done with the Sim 2 max. Doesn’t perform “max like” for me. Great feeling driver, looks good at address but I suck with it.

Played 9 and was -4. Birdies the 2 par 5’s… on in 2 but a low drive and one not solid left me with more club for my second shot. Another thin drive on 6 left me 110 in instead of 60-70. And a blocked drive on 9…. But at least it was over waist height. That being said I birdied 8, par 3 from 3 feet and 9 from 18 feet. Going back to the LST for the upcoming scrambles

Typhoon I know some at my club that still use the Sim2 Max. They are TM devotees but hate the carbon face. They go to the fittings at our club each year, but they say the new TM drivers don't beat the old one. Of course their drives are probably a good 50 yards behind yours.
