Par4QC I go out a lot of times late in the day at the pro shop and play the first hole with only a 7 iron. Tight par 5. I either par or birdie it Everytime. Then I stand there all day and watch people make double digit numbers by pumping balls one after another into the wooda

91 today at Royal St Cloud. It was really windy but I hit it well enough to shoot under 85 and struggled on the greens. Won money again. Every one else is somehow rustier than me.

Last hole downwind I piped it almost 300 for a nice finish. My opponent hit it about 330 but bladed it over the green.

The problem is ball position. I flare my front foot about 30 degrees. I've been playing the ball off the middle of the foot for years. Trying to get some launch. But I didn't get many great hits. Usually they were okay, and some days like yesterday, not okay. Everyone says play it just inside the heel. Sure, sure, what do they know?

Well I guess "they" are right. I tested it today at the range. Everything was a laser down the middle.
Doh! Height is another story, though. They were only going 40 feet high with a 12 degree driver. Well, I can figure that out as I go. I've always been a low ball hitter with the driver. And that shot will play down here, at least for a while.

Just a "meh" round today. Didn't play bad, didn't play good. 47/46. Only 3 pars, but no triples, 1 3 putt, 3 penalty strokes. Left too many putts short.

A decent day. Close to 70 when we teed off, 83 when we finished. Partly cloudy. Windy (but not as windy as I was expecting).

We got around in 4 hours which isn't too bad for CPO.

KCee Royal St Cloud today....Providence the other day.....I'm home now, but I've played both of those when I've been in FLA. Where are you staying????

        • KCee replied to this.

Red, white, blue scramble today. 6 holes from each of those tees. All the par 5s plus 2 par 4s were from the blue (almost tips) tees. Damn.......

We managed -4 (we did par all the par 5s but one). Last place🤬

Closest to the pin on #5 for me.😏

DonM Most of the time the set up is the culprit. Can’t expect good results with a poor set up. Glad you sorted it out!

fatshot we have an AirBnb in Davenport. Tomorrow is our last day.

OK....we stay in Kissimmee. Not all that far from Davenport. Safe travels home!

This jogged my memory. Too late now, but if you’re over that way next year. The Johnny Miller design Harmony Preserve is about as good as it gets. Only 30 minutes from Orlando airport. One of my favorite courses I’ve ever played.

“By wrapping the golf course around existing wetlands, Miller created visual excellence with quality course design and playability. Harmony Golf Preserve is 30 minutes from the Orlando airport, 10 miles east of St. Cloud, on U.S. 192. With impeccable conditions and a fun layout, Harmony is worth the drive.”

KCee we liked Royal St Cloud lot. Played a 9 hole scramble after 18. It was a long ride from Davenport with the traffic though.

Yep, I've never played Royal St. Cloud in less than perfect condition. And the traffic in the whole area is unbelievable....I'd go crazy if I had to drive in that every day!!

No golf yet but a couple days in a row at the range was nice for a change. Now we get back to reality. Rain and then colder weather. I’m fine with that, 2 nice days and everyone is asking me when the course will open up. Nobody understands we have to clean up branches, brush the sand off the greens… and we don’t want people out there taking divots that, IF they happen to replace them, won’t grow back.

So, you think it's the 'growing' season in NW IL right now?
1 course reported 807 rounds so far.
The course I played Sunday said it was a record rounds day.

And, according to what I read in your posts, who gives a shit about the condition of your course? The golfers don't.
                  Open up, losing money!!

89 today at Championsgate National. Crazy windy but I hit the ball well enough to shoot much better. Lost money today.
