Finally got to go play again. Took a 10 day break (not my idea, boss kept me busy).
I went around twice (as usual, best way to kill $20.00). Shot a 42 & a 41. Mostly played bogey golf for the first 6 holes, I did have a great drive on 6 not trying and I was just shy of the green in the center of the fairway. Chipped on to the green and ended up above the hole, not ideal, I got lucky and read the green right walking away with a downhill birdie from about 12'. On 7, I ended up below the hole, and just couldn't quite hit the ball hard enough to get it to the hole. Damn thing kept rolling right back to where it started from, I finally hit it to the right spot and it stuck leaving me with a 2' putt to card a 7. It took me 5 freaking putts to finish that hole...🤣. Yes, I was laughing the whole time.
Aside from #7, it wasn't a bard round of 9, two pars and a birdie.
Second time around I beat my score by 1 stroke, only got one par and no birdies. I also was playing double bogey most of that round. I did have a nice drive on 6 again, it went straight and ended up in the rough on the right side of the fairway and about 10' short of the green.
I was playing with a retired highway patrol officer the second time around. He was marveling at how far my game has come since I started last year. It was a great day to be able to walk the course.
