Long day of hiking and sightseeing, so my wife wanted to hang out at the pool for a couple hours before dinner. I decided to hit the twilight rate at Lake Powell National Golf Course. We're playing there tomorrow so I thought I'd check it out for $35.
Holy hell what a gorgeous course. First hole is easy, no problem, then oh my God did things take a turn. Blind tee shots to narrow fairways where if you miss right you're careening off a cliff. The greens are literally on the edge of the cliff, go long at all and it's down a ravine
These pictures don't do it justice. I hit one green from 100ish with a high PW, one strong bounce and gone. Hit another with a 5 hybrid and gone. I thought I might lose every ball I had. I'm thinking I have no business on this course. Somehow the slope was only 121. I play courses at home that are higher than that and nowhere near as hard.
I was actually hitting it pretty well. Shot 44 on the front. The back was much easier but far from easy. I shot 43 moving up to senior tees.
Almost all greens play uphill or are raised, no running the ball up here. Greens themselves looked great but we're really slow. Hard to make much of anything but hard to 3 putt too.

This hole was a 165 par3 about 100 plus feer elevation. Beautiful, pics don't do it justice

Even at the regular rate of $79 this course is a steal if you're in the area.
