Fall Shootout today. I sucked. No idea where the driver was going. Shot 91 but my 19 index partner shot 80, his PB, and we qualified. True alternate shot with final 10 teams and we breezed thru the first fee holes before we fell apart. Our first Shootout we didn't place. Bound to happen I guess.
How did you shoot today at Golf

13 FWs
9 GIRs
2 birdies (with 4-5 missed short by an inch or 2!)
1 bogey(on a Par 3, of all places)
26 putts....and I'm complaining that was too many!!
Best round in a few years; hit every club really good, even the new 455DB, 8*. Did not get the height of the old days, but they went as far as I've been hitting lately; a couple to new spots. And anyone that says those heads are not forgiving......I was all over the face...see FWs hit above.
Oh yeah......-1.....71.

Much different day today. I shot 74 with 34 putts, including 3 three putts. The greens are running faster now, and that is pretty darn fast. It's easy to run one too far past the hole.
But also 3 birdies. 13 GIR. No doubles.
Where was this on the second day of the CC?
This is the approach shot on 1 for the A player and me:
Another scramble today. Pretty hard and long course. Very tight. We shot -10 which was good considering one guy hasnβt played since before Covid and was awful anyway. Took 7 practice swings, every one with a divot β¦ divots with his driver as well. Then heβs hit it 50 yards. Putted like he was blindfolded. Second place.

I shot 37-35-72 this morning at Ottawa Park GC in Toledo, Ohio. Just one of those days when EVERYTHING was
working right, I guess. It helps that Ottawa Pk, being built at the turn of the last century is shorter than most of the courses we play (5100 yards), so lots of 7-8-9-W approaches into the greens. 14 GIR, 3 birdies, and 33 putts.
Snuck out to the slumpbuster after my 12 hour shift at the rehab facility. Should have gone home to sleep but what the hell.
Played the up tees at 5500 yards. 37 -40-77. 8 Fws. 6 GIR, 30 putts.
Coming way over the top on pretty much everything. Missed the green from 80-100 yards like 3-4 times.
Added my score 3 times because it felt more like lower 80s.
KCee So it was a tournament for the blind. You could try the putting challenge, 3 balls for $20 wearing a blindfold. It was a 10 footer. He did it, I watched while our other guy went back to his car for more marijuana.
The guy looks like Danny Noonan peeking under the blindfold to line up and then blasting it 30 feet past the cup. In the meantime, the other guys gets back with the pot. I asked if it was for glaucoma .
We start playing again. We have a 15 foot uphill putt for birdie. The guy who tried then blindfolded putt hits it off the green and into the rough. Had to have hit it 20 feet past the cup AND uphill. I said to him , β Jesus Christβ¦ you still got the blindfold on?β
Typhoon Sounds like a fun day! I have to play a scramble this Saturday at my club. Stupidly agreed to sub if people couldn't make it and figured I was safe since last week everyone was accounted for.
Getting stuck with 2 brothers that actually can golf, but are raging alcoholics. We tee off at noon and these guys will be tailgating at 10am and fall down drunk before the back 9. At least I only have to pay for the cart and I get a free steak dinner.

Tuesday Oct. 1, 2024......not a good day for golf. As I played it anyway.
Only got to mid 60s tempwise and a howling wind of 20+mph. But, no excuses.
Well, maybe just 1....I played from the back tees with everyone else. A few 100 yds. might have made that big diff.?
44/44....88.
Hit driver(s) fine. Actually hit the 20+ yr. old generic irons good also. End of story.
Played a course we had not been to in over 20 years, and scored about the same as then. Pretty little 9 holer/twice around course out in the boonies. Family owned/run operation since the 70's.
The course was in the best condition of any course I've played the last several years. Nice greens and not much in the way of ballmarks this late in season. FWs closely cut; something I'm not used to. I'll go back on a better day to see how the scoring goes.
Today, we head out to a course we've not played....Fyre Lake (@ode). A bit warmer, a bit less wind(hopefully). Details to follow, maybe pics. I'll take relish a score under 90 on this course.
