johnnydoom Nice!
How did you shoot today at Golf
- Edited
I shot 39-37-76 today at White Pines Golf Club in Swanton, OH today. Beautiful weather....high of 80....no wind to speak of. My back finally seems to be coming around thanks to Physical Therapy. No birdies, 9 GIR, 30 putts.
Couple under par, didn’t make any putts. Missed one green. And on that made an amazing flop shot on the short side to a downhill pin…. Tap in. Amazed myself on that one. Driving was poor again until I realized I needed to slow down and then was ok. Swing it like my irons… dummy…
75 ugh ... Pissed away and even par or under round with missing a bunny for birdie and not getting up and in on two easy chances just off the green. Solid ball striking all around. Pulled one tee shot that just caught the left trees and dropped straight down and cost me a stroke.....other than that had clean looks into all the greens.
41 in league last night. I continue to be a lipout king and cannot get a putt to drop. I did belly a wedge in for birdie on #3 par 5 though. League is over; winter is coming
ode 75 ugh
WTF?!?!?!

LogicalOne I forgot about my luck on 18.....super finishing hole. 460, par 5, tree line on both sides but wide enough to not feel pinched.....pushed my drive into the junk but found it (and about 10 other balls).....I had a choice between unplayable or punch out sideways and i chopped it out and got something up by the green and got up and down for par.
Gonna have to ask what that area is as nothing is marked on the course anymore and I don't remember if that area is hazard or not....but I played it as unmarked and down.
P.s. the ugh is about throwing shots away not the score.
79 at Old South in Bluffton. Cupcake of a course from Green tees @5135y. I coulda- shoulda gone lower! Lost a little focus on the back. Played with 3 college students from the Cincy area. Nice kids, good players! SWMBO is at the beach. I'm headed there now. Got around in 3.5 hours.
sdandrea1 Any residual issues from Tropical Storm Debby, or is everything pretty normal there?

When we played Shipyard right here on Island, no evidence of the storm. Today I went off island to Bluffton and it's apparently lower there. There were quite a few residual puddles from where water hazards had overfilled. Nothing that affected play except a few green front approaches that were mushy.
LogicalOne Where’s that Goddamn list…
So today wasn’t in the plan but why not. 3rd day in a row. Tees were up on both par 5’s as they attempt, rather poorly as you will see in the picture, to reseed the tees. So both par 5’s I hit driver 9 iron and driver wedge. Ended up 2 putt birdie on 1, par on 2. Birdie on 3 tap in. Only time you can get it close is if the pin is back because the green is a rock. Birdie the par 5 4th. Hit it to 4 feet on the par 3 5th playing at 100 yards. Hit my longest driver ever on 6… 342 yard par 4, drive was at the base of the rise to green.. 20 yard pitch, up and down for birdie. 7 th hole was 150, partially blind tee shot, drew a 9 iron to 10 feet and made the putt. Parred 8 and 9.
Took only the Qi10 driver. Yesterday I had 2 drivers and used the SIM for all but 1 tee shot. Today it was about slowing down. Very forgiving head, I slowed down a bit too much and pushed a few. On 6 I made a better swing and hit my longest ever on the hole. I’m not used to hitting a new driver and the stock Diamana is really a great shaft.
I shot 38-38-76 this morning at Chippewa Golf Club in Curtice, Ohio. Kind of a strange round with 7 GIR's, 1 birdie,
2 double bogeys, 1 penalty and 28 putts. Chipped and putted very well, which I find is a MUST DO at my
age, if I'm going to be able to score at all....!!

My opinion it's all about smoothing out your transition time and "fitting" your release to the heft/shaft weight/swing speed so one winds up with a longer impact area down the line. Even quick transition time players like Nick Price are/were great at getting that sync'ed up.
Out to the local muni this morning. Another meh start, +3 through 10. #13-#18 are the tough ones on this course, so for a "good" round I need to be around even through 12. I did at least birdie 12 to get back to +2 heading into the tough part.
Proceed to birdie 3 of the next 4 to get to -1. A bad easy chip on 17, bogey. A bad iron shot on 18 into a greenside bunker, but nearly holed it, tap in for an Even 72. First even par round in a year, but still shaking my head over that chip on 17.
