Haven't been on the site in a few days my friend, but saw your post and it made my day.

I remember a few years ago an enthusiatic new member to this golf forum who integrated by asking questions and then responded with gratitude for the answers.
It didn't take long for this old-timer to know there was a welcome new member.

Congratulatuons on the Ace my friend, and welcome to the HIO club. May there be many more.

FauxAmish Thank you!! I do my best to keep that gratitude, I know that there is so much to be grateful for. I just need to always remember that.

Got in 18 today and shot the temp....81. Wasn't a really good feeling 81, but considering it was from over 6000yds., in retrospect, I'm going to take it with a grin. The guys I was with were playing at 6500, but that is their normal; mine is 5500. And they didn't get me by much๐Ÿ˜‰. Tough course for me to break 80, but I like the place.
Putts were very low again, but wth...when you simply cannot hit a GIR, something better show well. FW clubs were on the fritz for some reason, so I had to pull hybrids out on the back 9, for a recovery.
Driver was again, surprising on low quality strikes, still making my 'old' yardages on them. '(Smoke)in' them on occasion๐Ÿ˜„.

Haven't played this course for a couple seasons and they have a brand new clubhouse, and it is a huge learning center. A really nice set up for a muni. BUT....for whatever reasons, they appear to be eliminating almost every bunker on the course. And are damn slow in that process. Bunkers were roped off, empty of sand and had water with weeds growing in all of them. July, and no clue what they are thinking. Other than that, it is a decent looking course. And well maintained.

Played the summer shootout today which is modified alternate shot. We were awesome tee to green but had the worst putting ever. We started on 8 and the horrible putting started on 11. I pitched our 3rd on a tough par 4 to maybe 5ft below hole. I thought the ball was going off the green. I lipped out from 6 ft and we made double. That was pretty much the rest of our round. I usually say nothing but didn't have to because one of our playing partners told him to stop hitting short putts so effin hard lol. My ballstriking was really really good. Unfortunately I can't play next weekend in solo tournament.

Played in a tournament today. Shot 89. Only hit two FW's all day. Two lousy GIR, mostly due to bad driving and always having no shot in. The struggle continues.

sdandrea1 And you know as I do, every damn time we remember we are coming up short, and take '1 more club' the next hole......we mishit that sumbich.....almost every time.๐Ÿ˜ก

1 over par 72 at Timber Greens. Had 3 birdies on the back 9. Back to back to back. Yup the hat trick. lol First up #13 which is a par 3. Was playing 129 to the pin. Hit it to 4 feet and bingo.

Next up the par 5 14th. Hit my drive in the mayors office. Hit 5 wood down the middle and then had 104 to the pin tucked in to the right behind a bunker. Hit gap wedge to 7 feet and bango.

And then the par 4 15th. Mishit my drive a little and had 160 to the pin. Hit 6 iron to 10 feet and bongo. Bingo, bango, bongo. Then on the par 4 16th I double bogeyed. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Such is golf.

Hit a lot of really good shots today. Ball striking continues to be good.

Sneakylong Had 3 birdies on the back 9. Back to back to back.

That's called any Tuesday for Typhoon. I once had a 3' foot putt for my third straight birdie but missed. 3 straight birdies is more impressive to me than a HIO.

Played Gold Canyon Dinosaur Mountain yesterday and shot 45-41. Since taking a couple of months off from playing, i have been a bit rusty. Getting back into the swing of things now. That front nine 45 included a 7 and an 8 on the card. Driver is just ok,irons are offline, had at leat 4 yips with the wedge, putter was good. I did manage to play the Par 3 holes at 1 over.

garyt1957 That's called any Tuesday for Typhoon

Nope, that would be a bad round for him because he wouldโ€™ve been over par. lol

I played Bethpage Black (white tees) yesterday. It was 90 degrees and humid. I ran out of sweat by the 16th hole. Only good news is the heat kept my back loose ๐Ÿ˜† I slept like a baby last night.

Taki27 OMG yeah the humidity here in the East was horrible this past weekend. Bethpage ain't flat either!

I played Saturday after the storms and they wouldn't let carts out. Walked 18 and collapsed. Tournament the next day carts were allowed so not as tiring, but still just as hot and humid. Cold showers and LOTS of fluids.

Sucky. Shot 50. Started out 8 over through 3, then parred the #1 handicap hole then finished with 4 bogeys and a double. Greens were lightning and I only hit one in regulation. Had some trouble hanging onto the club on a few shots with the super humidity. Need to try and find some cord grips. Really miss the old tour wrap cords.

The SpeedSoft ball played short just as Par4QC said. Lost 20 yards off the driver and 10 yards off the irons. I did get good launch from it, but no extra carry. Itโ€™s ok, but I get better performance with the Costco v2 ball.

Remind me who makes the Speedsoft ball so I never buy any

garyt1957 TaylorMade - who makes balls I like, but don't want to pay for. Had high hopes for this one, but perhaps the compression is just too low.
