scotts33 I played that course a number of years ago visiting friends in Toledo for a bowling tourney. What tee box did you play? 78 is damn good for over 6000 Whites. I enjoyed Detwiler Park very much.

Anymore (we're all over 70), we just play the senior tees.....about 5700 yards. Detwiler Park IS a nice course, but they've let it go to hell the last couple of years. It looks like the new management company is working hard to bring it back to what it should be. Yesterday it was in the best shape I've seen it in years.....I say good for them!!!

How's it going Buzzers! I've been away for a little while. I haven't been playing much do to life. Daughter graduated high school, I strained my rotator cuff and took 6 weeks off and I have been busy with every thing else under the sun.

Been on vacation since last Saturday in the beautiful SF Bay Area. Got to go out and play today at the Presidio Golf Course. Shot a 47-46 teeing off on #10 to start. Awsome golf course if you are in the area. Temp was 56° with a solid 25 mph wind for the front nine. Wind stayed but warmed up enough to lose the sleeves on the back nine.
My shoulder is all healed up so I should be back to playing on a regular basis and posting a bit more on here. For my own sanity, I had to block out 99% of golf related stuff to keep from rushing back into the game. Hell, I only watched the last 4 holes of the US Open!

    Mattyv welcome back!
Congratulations on the daughter making it through H.S., and your vacation! Glad you took the time to heal, and are back playing.

My new swing has been slipping away from me . Had to go look to see when I first posted about it and it was April 30th. So it lasted about two whole months but might just be done now.
Played today and shot 47-43-90 , two 8's on the front killed me. Hit 9fw's and 8 GIRs but nothing felt really good. Probably back to the drawing board soon. I hate to give up on this swing as I get absolutely no back pain from it.

garyt1957 Just take a day or two to go back to the beginning and see if you can find it. I've been using the same basic swing for 20 years and this still happens to me. That's golf.

Partner and I only managed even par in a 2 man scramble. We just couldn't hit greens. My irons and hybrids stunk. It is tropical humid.

On the bright side some of my parimutuel bets had a good Day 1.

garyt1957 A swing thought lasting 2 months is about 6 weeks longer than I get out of them. You came out ahead IMO. Hopefully the next one will come soon and last as long.

Second and final day of the member member tournament. I went 37-43. Two doubles, one birdie. My long putting was great but I missed a few inside 5 feet. 😡 The heat was rough, I heard some guys couldn’t finish their rounds.

My partner lost his swing yesterday for the scramble and still had nothing working today. He felt terrible about it but what can you do. It happens.

It looks like I have a winner in the parimutuel. Yeah baby.

Another blah round 44-40-84. Nothing worked. I suck.
Edit to add: it was even worse, I forgot to mark the 9th hole so that 44 on the front was actually 50! My handicap has jumped from 10.3 to 12.5 in a couple weeks.

Quiet day at the course with threatening rain and tstorms so went over and decided to tip it up on the GOLDS at just over 7000 where the blocks were today. Maybe not the brightest move with a 2-3 club hurting wind on 9 holes and really only helping on 4.

Tough front at 43 , with 7 bogeys and only 2 pars.
Played much better on the back and was -3 standing on 16 tee ( and missed a 4 foot bird on 11) went bogey, bogey, double to end one over on the back but quite happy with an 80

Played a tournament Saturday with my buddy's son. Modified Alt Shot the front 9 and scramble the back 9. He's a big hitter, but unfortunately he was pretty crooked until the back 9. We scrambled well, but didn't do much in the Mod Alt Shot portion. We finished with back to back birdies to wind up 2 strokes out of the money.

Sunday round was cut short on #15 by big T storms coming in early. I shot 40 on the front, but was probably heading for a 44 on the back as I made 2 triples to go with all pars. The GHIN app gave me an 85 so it thought less of me lol.

I am killing the Rogue ST Max. It must know I ordered the AI Smoke Max. I hit some drives on Saturday that I haven't hit in 30 years. They may make me pee in a cup soon.

Did 18 with Jake yesterday. Not a good day with driver in my hands, for some odd reason. Straight/in the fw, for the most part but the lousiest hits I've had in weeks. FW clubs were no problem though, which held the score down. Putting was so-so, but no 3s. Did put a different wedge in the bag and was chipping/pitching like a Pro once again😄. I'll take the 81, which I blew up from 79 on the last hole.

Got Jake an 'upgrade' from his Rocketbladez irons....SIM2 Max. He was killing them. Even said they are longer, which is scary to watch, and very amusing at the same time. Hit a 5i off the tee on 1 hole and went around 300. He hit 1 GIR from 377 off the tee, but missed the eagle putt. I would/will go watch this kid even when I can play no longer! His last 2 rounds have been 72.

I did hit this new irons on a few holes and kind of wish I had them also. Haven't hit irons like that, distance/effort, in quite a few years. Felt great. (I do envy those that can hit irons all the time, and not have to rely on hybrids and such.)

Great day, sunny and only 71, nice breeze that felt cool for 6/30.

Got out for nine this afternoon. High 70s, very windy, with a steady 15-20 gusting to 30-ish.

Was able to play the back nine for the first time in a long time.

No score, because I was by myself and the course was nearly empty, so I played two balls fairly frequently.

Legitimately parred 15, 16 and 18. Had a VERY fake eagle on 17. Because the course was really wet, they moved the tee box way up on this par five. Also, my first drive faded just a bit, so I hit a second one, which I crushed. Hit a smooth 7-iron to about 18 feet and rolled in the putt. So it was a par five but played like a decent-length par four, and I hit the second ball only three times, but it WAS the second ball.

My worst score was bogey, so no blow-up holes.

I generally hit the driver very well. The irons were a bit hit and miss, but mostly they were good, especially later in the round.

Overall, given the wind, I feel like I played pretty well. I had a ton of fun and really wished I had played 18.

80 at Plantation Palms. Had two birdies. Hit some great fairway woods today. Hit some nice chips and pitch shots as well.

81 today at Lee's Hill. Worst ball-striking low 80's round in the history of everything. Solid tee shots, effective chipping and putting, but gawddam everything in between were skulled runners that chased straight up the fairway. Gonna have a 2 week break I think. Closing on Wednesday and the fun starts.

My wife and I ran out to Lakeview Hills Resort for a couple rounds. They have two courses. We played the older South course yesterday. Front nine was pretty blah. Back was way more entertaining. Lots of elevation changes, uphill holes, downhill holes, up then down on the same hole. Shot another mundane 91.

First time getting to play TPC Summerlin with a tennis buddy this weekend. Very fun course, and being with a member was super beneficial. Had a 44-40 for an 84 with 36 putts. Pleased with how I hit the ball, but I the putting needs some practice.
