Typhoon Our new superintendent is continuing the tradition of trying to have the greens absolutely perfect for a big tournament that runs May 31 thru June 2. To do that they tuck all the pins around the edge of green in spots there were probably not meant to be pin positions. It's all part of the tradition of trying to be the hardest sub 6000 yard course you'll ever play
How did you shoot today at Golf

I shot 38-42-80 today at The Legacy by Arthur Hills in Ottawa Lake, MI, which was so wet that they weren't even letting carts out !!!! We walkers literally had the place to ourselves !! Played well on the front nine, but double bogeyed two consecutive holes on the back due to shanking a full 6 iron and a couple of partial wedge shots....... I have no clue why that happened, but it doesn't do the self-confidence any good !!! Luckily, I rallied to finish par-bogey-par. Hit 7 greens and 30 putts.
PS....the hole shown is #8, an obvious copy of #17 @ TPC Sawgrass. The story is that Art Hills did NOT want to put the hole on the course, but the owners insisted on it. So whenever Art played the course he always REFUSED to play that hole!!!

So I went out today to see if I can come up with a swing where I don't have to turn (due to a displaced rib).
So I tried this goofy swing by Jack Kuykendall where it's just basically a punch move, no real turn at all. I guess it's taught to disabled veterans and people who can't move too well.
Started out pretty shaky bogey, bogey, par, bogey. Not great but not horrible considering it's radically new. Birdied one then 3 more bogeys . Finished with a 42 for 9. Hit 6 FW's but not a single green.
Started the back and everything clicked. 7 straight pars and hit all 7 Fw's and GIR. Missed the FW on 17 into deep rough. Only 40 yards out but gave it a little too much to hack it out and rolled off, ending my chance to hit all 9 GIRs. Parred 18 to finish with 37 for 79 for the day.
Pretty crazy that this swing actually worked. Driver distance was hard to judge as we've had massive amounts of rain . I had to use my retriever to get my ball from the middle of the fairway a couple times but I think distance will be close to what I normally get. I definitely hit hybrids /FW better than irons with it. Absolutely no strain on the body.
Who knows if it will work next time as I've had so many of these Aha! moments before.
This is kind of the swing I was using.

40/39...79. Not....a good day at the office. Could have been a lot worse.
Driver was fine/was great(Cobra Darkspeed & Neuro, split duties). Putter was fine.....took the old G5i out. Never kept track though, but wasn't over the 'norm'. Just a bad swing day after leaving the tee box. The 579 irons were good & should have been much better, if I even knew how to swing an iron. Did have 1 birdie, no doubles, no 3 putts.
Had plans to play already when I got a message from Jake about playing, so that made it a great day!!
Esp. when you get to witness drives of 363, 383, and a short one of 356. Kind of overshadows the driving of the green on a Par 4 270 hole. With his 5i.
Par4QC Esp. when you get to witness drives of 363, 383, and a short one of 356. Kind of overshadows the driving of the green on a Par 4 270 hole. With an Aeroburner 5 wd. .
This is just flat out wrongā¦
VigilanteTrail That HOF Ninja shaft helped straighten him out a lot. He feels more confident 'stepping on it', on those Par 5 holes.
I really got to teach him how to putt though.
Also, I need to make a correction on that 270 yd. hole.
It was his 5i, not 5 wd.!
Par4QC 270 yd. hole.
It was his 5i,
Now shiz is getting stoopidā¦

KCee Iām amazed at the compliments we get. Are people blind , clueless or just playing a isolate dumps.
I playedā¦ the amount of unreplaced divots is mind blowing. The greensā¦ I donāt think people know that ārolling niceā means. I playedā¦ they are still bumpy as shit and the cups are raised.
Shot a lousy 48 in league and won 2 up. I feel like I could have played better but didn't need to. I tend to get sucked into match play. I don't know what's going on but I have switched from toe misses to heel. Heel is so much worse.
Our place had an outing so we took our team game to the local muni, Watters Creek.
They just punched the greens, we all had a hard time getting the ball to the hole. I didnāt keep any stats but I know I had a lot of putts. I shot 46-39 with 2 birdies and a few doubles. My tee game was good but approaches sucked. It was nice to play a course where you have a straightforward shot after you miss a green. I miss that.
I hit a longish par 5 in two, and left the 40 foot eagle putt 4 inches short.
Saved some $ today. I'd been thinking based on range mat sessions that my 5i and 6i were the same distance, so I had started looking at making a set of Maltby's. But on the course today, 4 consecutive holes, 5i went 170, then 6i went 160, 5i 170, and 6i 160. All four shots pin high within 20 feet. The Wilson Staff D9 forged shined today, keepers.
Shot an 81 today, 41 - 40 with 30 putts and 12 fairways, one birdie and one double-bogey.
I needed a par on the final hole to shoot a 79, but that's where I took the double-bogey.
78 at Fox Chase golf club in Denver, PA.
Talk about a slow start... I played a little bit yesterday and it was a bit cool out for my arthritic joints. I started double, double, double, double, par. Four double bogies and then a par. I felt a little better then. Unfortunately that's when I looked down at my electricity charge gauge and noticed it was on "E". I hurried back to where my pickup and trailer were, loaded up and went home. You don't chance running out of electricity with an EZGO RXV. When that happens the electric brakes set and you can't move the cart until it's charged up again. That's a poor design IMO. I had that happen during a time when I wasn't playing due to health problems. The cart was in my garage and I had to buy some dollies to put under the wheels, push it out of the garage and drag it onto my trailer with a come along for the trip to the EZGO dealer for new batteries.
