Squeezesd in an outing with my Friday league yesterday while SWMBO took the granddaughters shopping. Team took 3rd in 2 best balls. Shot 79😁. 3 double bogeys

I got to play a new course yesterday. Called Rancho Maria https://www.ranchomariagolf.com/
It was a great time with a buddy, it was worth the $60. I went around a new course with 49/53-102. The greens were a little bumper than I'm used to, and I think that's the only negative thing I can think of for the place. My buddy and I were fairly evenly matched on both nines. He took the front by just one stroke, it didn't help that I screwed up hole 2 with a tee shot OB, a shot from the fairway OB, and carded a 10. My driving yesterday was pretty good aside from 2 and 18, I was able to play everything else I hit off the tee. On the back 9, we were neck and neck until 14, where I gained a stroke. Hole 16 I got 2 more with a nice drive, a low running 7 iron that put me on the green. I ended up 15-20 feet from the hole with a slight downhill putt. I made the birdie putt.
Hole 17 I screwed up a shot from 150 out, a chip, and I got a double.
18 kicked my ass. I power faded one OB. It was a beautiful ball flight, nice and high, justvwrong direction. 2nd ball off the tee put me into the left rough after a bounce off a tree. 5 wood from there into the fairway, slight slice from the fairway to the right rough and about 40 yards to the green with a tree in the way of a high approach. 9 iron bump and run got caught up in the rough next to the green, chip on and 3 putt for a 10. Burger after the round was ok, nothing special at all. We agreed that next time we will be hitting a burger joint so we can get a good burger, and fries.
The pic is from next to the entrance, I got it when we were on 16, my buddy put his approach shot past the green and in the rough.

    Bravopilot

So I took an edible before I played night golf last night. They don't really get me stoned/high, they just put my mind at ease. I did surprisingly well! Not something I plan on making a habit while golfing, but it made for a fun round!

84 at Heritage Harbor. Haven’t played in 18 days due to being sick. Still have a cough etc.. It was 52 degrees when we went out at 7:17. Just 2 of us and we both showed some rust. Had one birdie.

Day 1 of maybe retirement. Started out great. Had 7 makeable birdies on the first 7 holes. Made good runs at all, all putts past hole by 2-3 feet. 3 hard lip outs. None went in. +1 through 10, and then I must have realized that I hadn't picked up a club in 3 weeks. Started missing greens like crazy (but as I look back, the missed greens were with a 3w, 3h, 3h, 4h, 5i .... some long shots on a cool windy day didn't go so well). Had a nice 12 foot putt for a birdie and 79 on the last hole ... nope.

Shot 48/46 this afternoon. First round of 2024 and first with the KE4 Max irons. It was a bad day to take new clubs to the course without ever hitting them. So windy, I didn't know what club to hit. Just two gir. I would have had 3 more if I had chosen the right club, lol. I felt rusty, too. Driver was ok but I hit some pretty bad shots with irons and hybrids. The greens were inconsistent. Some faster than others. Multiple 3-putts and didn't make anything longer than 3 feet.

MidwayJ Our course is gonna cover the greens this afternoon, expected to be closed for a week at least.

DonM I understand why. I will be "winterizing" my outdoor faucets today.

83 at Tarpon Springs. No birdies. 48 degrees when we went out at 7:13. Had three layers on and kept them on. Only had two of us today and we were done at 10:10.

        4 days later

78 at Timber Greens. Had two birdies. Haven’t played there in a couple months and it’s in excellent shape. We were first out and went around in an hour and a half on the front 9. But they have members go out on the back and slowed us down.

          7 days later

First round since November. Shot 46-45-91. Can't do anything right. Played Coral Oaks in Cape Coral, Fl.

            Typhoon

Yup, unless you live on the Cape. lol But when I lived in Haverhill many put their clubs away at the end of October. I may start just playing golf here in Florida in the summer (April-October) because it’s getting too expensive.
