Shot 92 today in the North TX senior league. I was hitting the driver pretty well but couldn't do much of anything else. It's frustrating when the driver swing works and the iron swing doesn't.
How did you shoot today at Golf
Today I combined some bad full swings from Sunday with bad short game and putting from Monday. I’m lucky to have shot 87. It felt so crummy. 5 GIR and 35 putts. The greens are getting so fast, probably 12 on a stimp meter. No exaggeration. Our C and D players were blowing everything way past all day. My short sided recoveries and sand shots were just awful. We lost our entire entry fee, which is real hard to do because we pay 4 places out of 7 for first six holes, second six, third six, all eighteen, and trash (greenies, birdies, and sandies). So we couldn’t even muster 4th place in any of those. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.
Oh, and just when the bunkers were finally down to a good amount of sand, they filled the fucking things up again. I’ve never played at a place that wanted so much sand in the bunkers. And it’s not nice sand. It’s heavy.
I’m canceling for Friday. I need a mental health break.
Oh, and I missed another 2 foot putt today.

The greens have been getting a lot faster on most of the DFW courses we've played lately. In last week's tournament and yesterday, there was one pin placement that warranted a windmill on the green. I'm one of those C or D players and I figure I've benefitted from blowing fewer putts past the hole than others in my flight.

83 at Tarpon Springs. 45 degrees at 7:03 when we went out. Just 2 of us again this morning and we were done at 10:09.
Another beautiful day in St. Louis. 67 degrees when we finished. Struggled to start out, but things got better later with a 48/44 which is pretty much my average.
We played the front 9 in about 1:45 but the back nine took over 2 hours. The group in front of us spent too much time looking for balls. They had two groups waiting on the 16th tee.
50/54-104...
Not my best round. One of my better driving rounds. Only had issues on #7, 11, 13, 15, most of that was all me. #7 I teed the ball too high and pop fly to the very beginning of the fairway. #11 put one in the drink, 2nd ball was in the rough on the other side of the fairway. #13, put one ob left, 2nd got wet. #15, beautiful high slice onto the practice green, good thing nobody was there...
It was a windy day today. Not sure what the gusts got up to, but downwind holes were fun, into the wind holes sucked unless you could keep it low...
Hole 18 was downwind, 354 according to the card. After my drive, I was left with maybe 60 yards to the green.
Today was enjoyable. 3 one putts, and 2 three putts. Everything else was a nice 2 putt. Maybe it wasn't a 2 putt par, probably a bogey. I did open with a nice 2 putt par on #1, after that it was kinda downhill from there...
I did play again this past weekend. Probably should have skipped it. It was supposed to be low 50's, but sun went in before we teed off and never came back out; felt like 40* with the cold breeze. Was also a shotgun start with 2 groups on most holes and it took +5 hours waiting on every hole.
I was killing the driver again, but struggled to a 90 with poor irons and the pins tucked on slopes. My game has completely flipped as I've picked up 20-30 yards on drives (that go straight!), but can't hit an iron or wedge.
DonM A few of us were saying it out loud lol. I've gotten used to a round being no more than 4 hours and waiting constantly now makes me a cranky old man.
I have been enjoying hitting the driver again lately though; I hope this swing resurfaces in the Spring when its warmer, but maybe it's all the layers of clothing helping restrict my overswinging.
79 at Heritage Harbor. Had one birdie. It was cold when we went out at 7:17. Once the sun came up it was a little better. Went around in 3 hours and 10 minutes.
Shot 90 at Twin Creeks, Allen, TX. We got a late start after a frost delay but it warmed up nicely to a beautiful day. I made some good shots but my swing was very inconsistent. I birdied the par 3 #2 after nearly acing it, but followed that with an 8 on #3. The fast greens got me today, too. I didn't count them but I know I had more than 36 putts.

Beautiful day here today. I played but quit after 10 holes because it was super slow and I was getting grouchy.
But I wanted to say, the KE4 FDI driving 4 iron shows some promise. I used it on a 170 yard par 3 with the idea of making an easy swing carrying 150 or so and letting it run to the back pin. And it did. Of course I didn't make the 12 foot putt! I also used it to par a long par 4 by running it up beside the green and then chipping close. This is one of the few holes that is open in front. I think for me it probably would carry about 165 max, same as my 5 hybrid but with more run out. Height is reasonable but it's going to run. If I played a course with run ups to greens, this club would be great.
I didn't use it for any fairway finder tee shots yet. That would have been hole 15. I guess the point is, at 38 inches it's probably a lot more accurate than a utility wood or hybrid that goes the same distance. I have to decide if the trade offs are worth finding a spot for it in the bag. I kind of feel I could consolidate two hybrids into one and not lose anything there.
I might get to play next Thursday. This is weird.
Practice a little Friday and hopefully play Saturday. Time is running out quickly....
We’re gonna be at 50 as well. Nothing much open around here and what is will be stupidly packed. I’ll go down to the club and use the range.
