How did you shoot today at Golf
79 at Heritage Harbor. One birdie. Windy and cool this morning.
Sneakylong yelled my typical "drinks!!!"
You definitely need to stop yelling this. It's got to be a jinx.
Hour and a half frost delay this morning but it was sunny and warmed up nicely to the 50s. Shot 43/43 with one birdie and zero triple bogeys. A good ball striking day for me with irons, but three 3-putts and three drives yanked left into trouble kept me from scoring better. Super nice weather to play in!
Played yesterday. The new Wilson D9 irons finally clicked (12 greens hit, and only 1 miss was a D9, and that was the first hole which flew right over the pin and long). The driver was back after a bad round (12/14 fairways). Of course, the golf gods had their ways, and no putts went in at all.
Another beautiful day in St. Louis (for late November. About 44* at tee off, 55* on the 18th green. And Sunny.
The round was meh. The driver was good for the first 14 holes but was terrible after that. My lag putting, which normally decent wasn't today. 4 3 putts. Everything was short. 3 lost balls didn't help. 47/46, so not out of my normal range.
Even though it was CPO, we got around in about 3:15, so that was good.
Shot 46/43 today in the senior league, which was a net 72 and 5th in my flight. No birdies, but some solid stress free pars to offset the doubles and one triple. To my surprise, I won a $50 skin with a par (net birdie) on one of the par 5s. Usually net birdies are only good enough to prevent someone else from getting a skin, but the hole was playing long into the wind. No one birdied it and nobody else with a stroke parred it.
I had a rough 85. 35 putts with the armlock putter. Strangely for an alternative putting style, my lag putting is awesome. But I am not making anything in the birdie range. The greens are just about dormant, and they are FAST. Downhill putts are like glass. That’s where some of my 35 came from.
I had 9 GIRs but it sure didn’t feel like it. It’s been a rough stretch lately.
DonM
Don, curious about your Moe Norman swing. I’ve tinkered with a single plane swing going back to the Natural Golf days. Never fully committed to it even though it is a very efficient swing. Thinking about it again as I’ve aged and dealing with back issues/joint replacements and a shorter backswing.
Have you looked into the Graves Golf info? As you may know, Todd Graves was the main protege of Moe.
