Shot the worst round today in over 15 years on my home course where I normally shoot 75-80. I staggered in with a smooth 87.
It didnāt help that it was hot (95), but the thing that really affected me was my ADHD friend/neighbor who rode in my cart and couldnāt stop jabbering for the entire round. On the tee, before shots, after shots, on the green, etc. Just a constant stream of crap on a whole range of topics including what heās doing right with his swing, what heās doing wrong, constantly asking me the yardage even though heās wearing a GPS watch. Iām not exaggerating when I say he talked constantly during the 4+ hour round. He was fidgeting like a monkey on crack. The three Red Bulls he drank probably didnāt help matters. By the end of the round I was mentally exhausted.
He normally doesnāt bother me too much if weāre just playing a casual round but today was menās club and most of us take it pretty serious, trying to shoot our best scores.
I know I need to learn how to just tune him out but itās almost impossible when youāre trapped in a cart with him and on the tee and green when he delivers a constant monologue.
End of rant and thanks for listening š
