Wednesday Stableford medal on our #2 course, usual Wednesday crew and joined by another good friend who's "working from home" ... I believe him.
Usual cold north/northwest wind keeping the temps barely into double digits. We even got a 2 hole hail storm that turned the greens white (and turned a couple of putts away from the hole 🤬). Drove the ball well and finding a lot of GIR but couldn't drop enough putts - the greens weren't in best condition even without the hail - although managed a respectable 41 (18 points) to the turn including a birdie on #4.
A couple of careless bogeys followed the hailstorm, and the wind switched 180 so was no help coming in, followed by a couple of bad (really bad) lies from what were good shots. Knowing it wasn't my day my game slipped away, picked up on #16 rather than climb into a gorse plantation to look for my ball. Poor 11 on the back 9 for 29 points, I can blame the greens for some of that (nobody putted well, line or length, and everyone missed some shorties).
Oh well, it's another one in the books - I still don't have 20 registered scores for WHS - and Saturday medal to look forward to (although weather forecast makes that a "hold"), and cold or not there's always time for one of these now that lockdown's easing -
