Had a similar experience in Vegas in 1977. We were being let out of a cab at an intersection and my wallet fell out of my back pocket (damn slippery polyester pants lol).
Of course I didn’t realize it and walked ahead to go into the casino. Sat down at a blackjack table and reached for my wallet and said uh oh.😯
Luckily a woman saw it fall out on the street, picked it up and chased down my girlfriend and gave it to her. I had ~ $500.00 in it.
Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to thank her, but she saved my vacation with her honesty.
