Just got back from 4 day weekend in Ocean City. Played some of the nicest courses I've been on and for relatively cheap too.
Thursday afternoon was Glen Riddle Man O War which was a nice linksy layout. This was maybe our least favorite, but yet one of the nicest courses I've ever played.
Friday was Eagles Landing which is a beautiful layout, but marred by the storm which brought sideways rain off an on most of the round. We got through the front 9 nine okay, but Mother Nature punished us on the back. Of course we went into the bar afterwards and the sun came out, but only for a minute.
Saturday was Rum Pointe. The best day weather-wise as it was 75 and sunny although windy. Beautiful course with ocean views on the front and then you go into the woods for awhile on the back. The place was packed so a +5 hour round finishing near dusk. I had trip highlight by pounding a drive into the wind on 18 and flighting a 7i through the wind to the middle of the green (all over water) from 145 with a crowd of drunks on the clubhouse patio. Unfortunately I missed the birdie, but won the hole. We could not figure the greens out in OC.
Sunday was outside of OC at Baywood Greens GC. Beautiful place with unbelievable bunkering, but it was crazy windy. I did finish 18 strong again with a nice drive and then another flighted 7i from no more than 130....yes it was THAT windy. Great weekend and now I may need to check into Betty Ford to dry out.
