Didn't play today ... 5 rounds in 6 days finishing yesterday, Thursday and Friday in howling winds, so taking a break before league match tomorrow.
Played much golf since I last dropped in to GB, too many to remember and list but here's a precis ...
3 league matches (team 1-2, my group (got a new partner this year so far) 2-1 including a 5&4 away win and 8&7 home win.
Couple of medals, nett 72 and 74. The 72 was weird - started with 4 pars and 3 bogeys then went 8-10 on consecutive par 5s, including 2 shanked wedges, 2 attempts to get out of a bunker and 7 putts between them. Then shot 39 (par 34) on back 9 and replaced my best counting score differential (10.7) with a 10.6.
Seniors event at Blairgowrie Landsdowne, lovely course but early season slooooooow greens.
PGA Centenary at Gleneagles - yes, the Ryder/Solheim Cup course. Fantastic but long track with long walks from greens to next tee but a wish-list course that we got for Ā£200 4-ball (normal single player price, Ā£220).
Seniors Open Texas Scramble at my home course. Late invite due to a call off and front 9 played in a deluge. Played very well and won with a nett 58 (70 gross), hit a 5 wood 170 yards into the wind to 6 feet for birdie! Ā£50 voucher, just what I paid for Gleneagles so that's good.
Driver is my most consistent club, and short game returning to its best my last 3 rounds. After the shanks mentioned above I managed to sort my head out and get back to what I should have been doing all along.
