We're getting close to no jumpers, especially if the cloud breaks and the wind drops to single figures π. Still half expecting some snow though; that worry doesn't go away until mid-May π
Think I've told this before, maybe on FGI. I remember landing in Florida for a golf holiday, 99 I think. Hurricane Floyd was about to hit. We were driving into our accomodation (self-catering villa at Southern Dunes) as everyone else was driving out of town.
Got up the next day, golf_ghirl and I wandered round to the pro shop to check tee time availability. Wind was still blowing at least mid to high 20s, maybe higher.
"Any tee times?"
"Hurricane came thru last night ..."
"It's not coming back though is it?"
"Wind's blowing hard sir, nobody plays golf in these conditions ..."
(Bursts of laughter from me and golf_ghirl) "If we stayed off the course for winds we'd be lucky to play 3 games a year. Any tee times?"
Got a buggy, loaded up, had the place to ourselves and got round in 3.5 hours or less. Into the bar for a drink where we got a round of applause from the handful of folk who were there (including the guy from the shop).
"How many holes did you manage?"
"18 ..."
More applause and free drinks for us ... so yes, I've seen the void close up π€£ and benefited from it πΊ
