Typhoon Yeah weather is horrible. Was lucky to play a tournament last weekend. Haven't been able to get our Tuesday league in for the last month. Been popping up my net in the garage to hit balls every once in awhile just like in the Winter.

84 with 4 putts that stopped at the lip. Couldn't seem to read the slow greens. All Hybrids going back in the bag tomorrow. Very shitty ball striking today on the driver and FW EXCEPT the 9 wood. I chipped and putted my way out of several mess boxes.

Heat + Humidity can make the greens 'sticky' .... add spraying fungicide and, well, very hard to read speed. 🤨

Have played three times since retirement (and this year), all on the same course. 92 the first time out with a 50-42, so there was some improvement. Next time 86 (44-42), coming around a little bit. We snuck out this morning for another round... got caught in 3 different rain showers, the course was already soggy, and I struck the ball the worst of the 3 rounds by far. Yet somehow ended up with an 81 (39-42). My short game was working, and it had to. 😀

Par4QC come out here to California, I know of a couple of courses that are playable and not under water, or on fire. Got one right on the coast so it has a nice marine layer most mornings.

Yeah! And this course's greens are usually very fast........I had that in my head.

Same here. Dry, low humidity, and fast is totally different even though they are cut the same.

Up to Auchterarder with DM and GG for round 1 (of 4) of our seniors mini tour. Scorching hot day, no wind, set off nice and early. So early we got there 49 hours before our teee-time ... We were due to play another course but the date clashes with our club championship week and DM is in the handicap champs, so by request we agreed a change of venue (and date). Idiot got it wrong, as did GG who got an email this morning with the tee-times, but he only checked we were booked in as expected and not the actual day/date of the event. Pair of feckin' idiots 😂😂. And I can't make Thursday (got a seniors league match) so now I'm calling and emailing trying to get back to our original venue.

Never mind, pro was very helpful and slotted us in with a good discount on price as well, so at least we got a game of golf. Played OK with a few pars, no birdies or real bad blowups, and won our (modified) Stableford comp with a par-par finish. First prize - I got to drive us home. Probably just as well since I drove us there 🤣

Shot 77 today at Art Hills' The Legacy, just over the state line in Michigan. Normally, I'd be happy with that, but
my nines were 36-41. Ran into a rough patch on the back nine where I went bogey-double-bogey-bogey! Luckily,
I parred the last 3 holes to save a decent round. We beat the rain too....after two days of it, we got the round in,
and then drove through another downpour on the way home.

Finally got 9 holes in for league last night. I gagged up the first 3 holes with double, double, triple and then found some form and made 3 pars and 3 bogeys to finish. In typical fashion, my opponent is giving me only 1 stroke and shoots an easy 2 over to my 10 over.

Between the bad weather and all the sandbaggers I can't say I love this new league. I probably should consider becoming a pro caddie because I do seem to bring out everyone's best game.

No, not at all (at least IMO!). We've had a ton of rain lately, so the course was a little wet in spots, but tees, greens and bent grass fairways were in great shape. Our group has a list of about 7-8 courses we travel to about 3 times each a season, and The Legacy is at the top of our list!

84 today with 6 pars, 2 doubles and a birdie. Putting cost me more than anything else. Damn I-drive hybrids are spoiling me. Point and shoot.

Got my first round in with Cutter's TS2/TS1 combo heads. I had 6 iron shots today that I thought were on the green, only to be over the green. I had hit these at the range several times, did not see significant distance differences. But on the real grass, they were going long.

I had pulled a back muscle a few days ago, so I had a bad case of the "lefts" today off the tee. +7 through the first 8, but then settled down to +2 for the last 11. Those 6 long iron shots were worth +7, so I think things will be ok once I get settled on the distances.
