Squeezed 18 in between the rain on Saturday....everyone stayed home and we were done in record time. Another 18 yesterday and took a few bucks off my buddy and his brother. 86 seems to be the only score I shoot lately, but given the thick wet rough and my erratic driving (along with slow greens) that was to be expected.

Played at Somerset today in Spotsylvania County, VA. PapaC, PapaD, our grandson Jesse and another buddy played a captain's choice format. Got to -8 and cooled off. No bogies, tho!

My usual, went around twice. Shot 44 both times. Heck, if I'm able to play that consistent and have the sore side and back, I should be able to get lower scores once I'm healed up. I'm doing my best to keep playing and not tweak myself, so I'm not swinging very hard.
Im going to see about getting into a chiropractor in the morning and see if I only strained muscles like I think, or done something worse to myself... It would be nice to get an adjustment done.

Last night was another league round cut short by bad weather. I think out of 12 weeks we've had maybe 2 days with decent weather on Tues.

Storm came up fast last night. We had just left the 5th green to head back to the clubhouse when the large tree in between the green and 6th tee fell. Sadly I heard my nemesis trees on the corners of 3, 7 and 17 are still intact.

Played 9 this morning and stunk it up bad. Was sore from gym/driving range/soccer yesterday, and it was hard to turn. Also put a new driver in play PXG Gen 4 (great) and the TS2/1 combo set from Cutter (awful). The irons had been good at the range, so I am blaming the performance on my aching body. Selling my current wedges, so I reshafted some Maltby M+ wedges that I had sitting around to use in the interim. I forgot that those heads, on some steel shafts, swingweight out to E105 or something like that. Could barely lift them.

Played a quick 9 today to try to get dialed in for some scrambles coming up in a little over a week. Hit the ball pretty well considering I was stiff and sore from all the manual labor around the house and the last 2 days of softball practice. I made a few corrections that had been causing me problems, mainly setting up too far away from ball on iron shots and standing up and out of drives. Last 2 driving holes I hit a couple slight draws which doesn't happen very often for me with the driver. Was pretty steamy 87 and humid but the course was wide open after a 5-some of old farts let me play through on the 3rd hole.

12 holes with GG, beautiful day for it. Lots of pars and a birdie on a par 3, distance control on putts remains excellent. One of these days those will all drop you know ...

New FWs didn't fare as well as they did on the practice ground, think I just set my expectations too high and swing got a bit fast. Will sort it tomorrow. New driver is behaving nicely although slight right drift on a couple. Decided it was too lofty (10.5) so dropped it to 9.5 and draw bias (just 'cos I could). Better, longer than my preious setup, but I might book a Trackman session with my club pro to dial it in (although they all get a runout in tomorrrow's senior league match).
