  • Question for all you fitters and/or shaft guys..need asap

On a Fuji shaft and/or others I have seen there is a S inside a small square. It seems to be a logo of some sort. Not being a shaft guy......What does it mean?

I assume it has something to do with the graphite quality...but, I am really not sure.

Help.

Just my guess but that is their rating for a Stiff flex.

R...No! It's an R1 Flex. That S in a square means something definite. You are going to force me to call Chuck Lloyd in Florida and then I am in for a 45 minute explanation!!! Don't do that to me....LOL!

I think literally is S for shaft.....I've seen it on other ones to and I'm pretty sure it was the Integra Professional Super lite, which has the materials by toray rayon/Japan.....pretty sure it is a Japan thing.

Found a pic of the Integra shaft-

Might be hard to see but on the right side (as u are looking at the screen) is the exact same mark....just do a google images search for Integra Professional Super lite shaft and you'll see/find it.

      Toray Industries in Japan.

I read something on Golf WRX, that it is a Japanese materials standards logo, that the shaft meets an industry standard similar to the "UL" Underwriter's Laboratories logo.
