like that early on where people could call in, describe their problem, and get a professional explanation of
what to try to correct their problem....

I am surprised Robert Damron lasted that long. He's a regular guy like us, but bit his tongue quite often.

Have you noticed Chamblee has toned it down as well? He's been extra complimentary lately.

I really don't watch the GC much except for actual golf tournament coverage and then usually only if it's a fairly major event. Don't like golf movies whatsoever so those are an immediate channell change for me. I will watch some of Playing Lessons and a couple of the instruction shows. I have to be really bored to even check out GC.

braveheart This is the part I don't like....the 'lessons, tips, how to'. No one has ever learned how to play golf from 'listening' to anyone telling them how to. No one. On any given 30 min. golf instruction type show, they talk for 25 minutes, while grounding an iron/picking it up/ moving towards camera while yapping/put it back down again.....repeat for 25 minutes! Just shut up, and show how to do it. Repeatedly. It's all that is needed.

I just watch the actual tournaments now and half the time without sound. I did like Big Break, Playing Lessons from the pros, Feherty and some other stuff, but there is nothing left. I guess with more people playing golf again I would have expected Golf Channel to get better?

I agree and sometimes watch the Euro tournaments on the weekends early AM as I'm the only one in my house awake. It seems like they don't have as many cameras, but the announcers are better.

Yeah. Love their quirkiness and unfiltered comments. Much better than the stiff, predictable announcers.

There is only so much you can do... it’s one sport... 24/7. What’s the Tennis Channel like?

Espn has all sports, documentaries..

Maybe try to think outside the box? How about golf themed game shows? Like a "“Wheel of Fortune" using golf names, terms, destinations. Holy Moley on ABC is at least entertaining... how about something like that. How about some kind of Country Club sitcom like a spin off from Happy Gilmorenor Caddyshack?

Mentioned before, shows on club building, maybe a day in life of a tour pro, how a course is set up for a tournament, Tours of Ping or Taylormade plants...

There is only "“so much" of the other shit to rehash... the old tournaments from 8 years ago. I liked the Jack Nicklaus piece they did but they shove it up you ass for 10 days ... it’s either that or Golf Central.

And lastly, do something with the male hosts... the women for the most part look fine but the men look like a bunch of rejects... Like someone said, Brandel suddenly looks like he was ridden hard and put back wet... give that man some makeup. Damron needs to color that skunk man patch in the front of his hair, Justin Leonard...just needs his head cut off, that can’t be fixed, Tim whatever is last name is, escapes me at the moment, his tongue is too big for his mouth. When he speaks all you see is his tongue flappin Almost coming out of his mouth and Jim Gallagher with the cleft palate....

I think I sitcom based on a country club or an after work golf league would just about write itself. Maybe something like Night Court but based at a golf course?

They need some fun stuff on there. Get Rick Shiels and Lucy Robson to do some shows. I like Rick's club reviews and I could stare at Lucy for hours on end.
