I'm a big fan of adjustability. However, I like simple adjustable hosels like Cobra and Ping. They just use a simple hosel adapter that adjusts loft while others like Callaway and Titleist use a more complicated one that includes lie angle also.
If you look closely at Cobra's and Ping's tip adapter you'll see it's put in at an angle and that allows the loft to increase / decrease while adjusting face angle (increasing loft closes face angle and vice versa).
When I look at Callaway's tip adapter it sits even and is not angled. You can adjust loft and lie separately and can do so without changing the orientation of the shaft. Not sure if anything is actually being changed. If so not sure how they're doing it.
Also a fan of sole weight placement. I like draw bias drivers. Ping's G30 and G driver (SF Tec) offer loft changes in addition to a heel bias sole weight. I noticed that two of Cobra's new F7 drivers (not the F7 all titanium) have moveable weights (high, low and heel bias, no fade bias though).
I think Wilson's marketing on their new Triton driver was brilliant. They needed to try something to gain some 'buzz' about their drivers. We'll see if it works. When was the last time you saw any talk about a Wilson driver?
They make excellent equipment in other sports and are considered top tier OEMs, but in golf they lag behind the top tier OEMs. Can they regain their once prominent name in Golf? I doubt it myself, but at least they seem to be willing to try something out of the box.
