Eguller

nice work! Wishon had a putter way back when that took flat lead discs under the sole. Those might be too big though?

If you move the magnet weight to the heel side of the gold coin, two things happen: (1) a fade becomes a nice draw, (2) you gain entrance to the secret caves behind #6 green.

Me likey. Oh, Rex....I did find a perfectly shaped 1/2" magnet the right thickness and 4.2 grams. I may try it,
but it wants to wander to easily when trying to center it. Good idea though.

Eguller For what you were wanting, rare earth magnets are best. They are the strongest. I have a couple and nearly got to get out the crowbar to get them off anything. And they are only about 1/8 x 3/8 in size. It's what scrapyards would use for detecting grades of stainless, magnetic vs. non. Did some scrapping in my time. 😀

Nice to know, but with my 135 mph 7 iron swing ( I'm on WRX also), it would fly off and hit
sdandrea1 the first time we teed it up. He'd be pissed. 😅

        I'd be dead (again). 😅

Well, I had a chance to test the STeye2 mod. I used 2 of the blackened discs glued together and centered on
the head as pictured earlier. Mission accomplished. It raised the SW from D.75 to D2.0 and it did
feel more solid. I like a heavy, dense feel in an iron head - and this is much closer. In fact, so close that
I am going to take the plastic wrap off the heads and finish the set. [ Rex: I did find some 1/2" strong
magnets and tried 2 of them in the garage and they tend to wander - so they would work but glue would
be necessary and they may have a different effect than the lead ].

These are heads are as big a bargain as I have seen lately at $20 per (with my mod of course). They
look just about right at address, feel good, and distance is as you would expect from the loft. Just one
caveat - I looked at a new Bridgestone E6 soft hit (40* weather ball) and the 7i head may have had a
'shredding' effect on the ball. I'll post a pic later, but more 'research' is needed. Otherwise ++++.

Took the PW and 6i to the range for a quickie with real golf balls. These babies are the real deal.
If you want a slightly larger looking players iron with forgiveness, they are hard to beat. I've hit
almost all the Maltby irons over the years, and I like the looks, feel and distance as good as any.
I'm going to complete the build and put them in the bag until Spring (at least). Way past expectations.

Forgot to mention that we'll see how the 'finish' holds up to my hacking. 🤣

This is the NEW E6 Soft ball that I mentioned shredding. I believe it was the St(eye)2 7 iron shot that did it.
I'll do the detective work tomorrow as I'll be hitting it again.

Eguller I've got a set of irons that I've played for years, and a lot. That is what the balls look like when I hit them with 8, 9, PW, which are the irons I hit 99% of the time. White stripes left in the grooves, I don't even need to check the ball.
          Did I mention the balls 'drop/stop'? 😉
