The honorary first news story is Ellen Page saying she is transgender and wishes to be called Elliot from now on. Ellen tells the transgender community she will fight for them.
Beautiful piece on division in the science community that mirrors society at large.

Didn't know who Ellen Page was. Never saw Juno and if I've seen her in something it didn't resonate with me. Hope she (he, I guess) enjoys the newly announced identity.

How far will she set women back this time out?
CPFitness I think it’s great that she got to kick in a game in something other than a publicity stunt. That said, it was a squib kick and did not have to attempt any field goals. If she does get a chance this week, I hope she gets some 25-30 yard attempts so she can be successful. Her long is 38 yards and it didn’t mention if there was any rush. Carli Lloyd of the Women’s National Team kicked a 42 yard field goal at an NFL practice and the news said she would like to kick in the in NFL. The only problem is that she is 20-25 yards shorter than the male kickers. What these women can do is amazing, but biology is biology and elite men are just bigger, stronger, faster than elite women.

By kicking against Missouri, Fuller became just the third woman to participate in an FBS football game, joining Katie Hnida of New Mexico and April Goss of Kent State.

Besides unless your kicker was a former rugby player you shouldn't have attempt any tackles.

Personally, I don't think kicking should even count . I don't think of male kickers as football players, they're just kickers.

sdandrea1 - No Sir. PuttnFool isn't on this site any longer under any aliases. We're in contact with each other on occasion to eventually put together a round of golf when I'm in the OKC area. He found a new landing spot on another forum he's invited me to join too but I haven't looked at it.

Last time I checked life was good for him and he was still working as a civilian on one of the military bases in the OKC area.
might be “OGputtnfool”... I forget. I don’t go on there often, too much of a “suck up” forum. I just know that name is on there. I think the OG part starts it. He could have changed the spelling too but there is one there.
