Typhoon I only bought one because, well, because it's made by Kelly. Had to have one.
I don't go for those type putters, esp. center shafted ones. BUT....when I pulled it out of the box, I knew there was something to it. Swung it a few times....straight back, straight forward, absolutely no offline wobbles. I then hit a dozen balls across the carpet, about 10', and each ball hit the one previous. I've only ever been this impressed with 1 other putter, and it has been in my bag for several years. It will have competition next year, for the 1st time ever.

Buy one, dammit.

(NO, Kelly did not give me the putter for endorsement, nor did he send cash or other goods. That ass. 😆 )

I immediately got better at putting when I switched to a mallet. Worth a try. I'm using a CAG 354 here in Florida and an Odyssey VLine pro in VA.

It has to be part of the thought process. I pick my spot, say, 2” outside right. I line my self and the putter face at the spot. After that must be where it goes wrong. Or maybe I’m too precise on what I’m aiming at...

Driver and irons I don’t pick a tree to aim at in the distance. I aim a little right to allow for a draw and tell myself to hit it good. Putts I don’t tell myself how to hit it. Sometimes I do. I might need to spend less time on the line and tell myself how to hit it instead just before I hit it?

Not being boastful, but I think I putt really well; at least a 3 putt is only something that happens a couple times/season.

I never look at the sight lines on a putter. Then just before I hit the ball, I stand straight up, & look at the line from ball to the hole, in a straight line, not the line I'm going to hit on. This let's me know if my chosen line is correct or not. My only thought would be about speed.

I wish I had a clue. I did my best putting when I couldn't get on most greens in par and was using a $5 Northwestern blade that my dad bought me to keep me amused on rainy days. Now I can get on or near most greens in regulation, but can't even lag a putt reliably, much less make them. Might get a new putter just for the difference, but in my case it is definitely not going to be in the best of hands.

My putters are fit to me... 32.75”, 4 degrees loft and my slight arc swing. No frills set up, club is soled. I feel comfortable... I just suck 😁

Rickochet I don't care about the specs. I "feel". If that is not there, it's not going to be in my bag. I don't care the weight, nor the length, or shaft bend, if any. It must swing back/forward in a straight line, without wobble. That's the 'specs' on my putter. I cannot even tell you the weight of what I've been using.

What I was referring to was specs like head weight which I think is the most critical factor in finding the right putter fit.

For most "normal" folk, the feel and the weight (swingweight included) are almost the same (aside from the strike itself) so it's important.

I am wondering if johnnydoom is having this issue with his poor lag putting?
Maybe his current putter is too heavy and on long putts, with a longer backstroke, he hammers it due to his old putter likely being light?
or maybe his current putter is too light and his stroke is forced?
(for me, this used to be my issue and on fast greens it got worse)
I also consider myself an above average putter and I use a heavy head.

Played last week and made 2 longish putts which is a lot for me. Problem is I made one putting with my wedge because I didn’t feel like going back to the cart and getting my putter. It’s just a hand to eye coordination thing. Forget mechanical and just pick a line and roll it. Putter doesn’t matter.
