Went to the range this morning with the clubs listed below.
- PING G15 Draw 10.5, L flex, 45.5", 50g counterweight in butt of shaft.
- Tour Edge HL2, 12, A flex, 44", no counterweight.
- Tour Edge HL3 5W, A flex.
Warmed up with my 7i and 8i and then hit 20 balls with each club. The 2 drivers felt way different in weight but were mostly center struck. Distance was basically the same with the longest shot going to the PING.
The 5w was the easiest to hit solid and I could go after it with that club. MOST OF MY 5W SHOTS WERE AS LONG OR LONGER THAN THE SHOTS OFF THE DRIVERS. THE TRAJECTORY WAS PIERCING AND THE ROLL OUT WAS BETTER THAN WITH THE DRIVERS.
Does this mean I'm not in driver hell, but rather in FW heaven? Am I just more efficient with a 42" club? Should I be teeing off with a 3w or mini driver? WTF?
