Our Meme game is weak thread
meagain When I was in college my whole family took a vacation in Texas for a week, leaving me with my father's Saab. The day after they left the battery was dead.
Well, I had classes and I had work, and I had no money for a battery, so I push started that car for an entire week, everywhere I went. I got pretty good at it. I also figured out places on campus to park that were advantageous, like, for instance on a downhill slope, so I wouldn't have to push it as far and could allow gravity to help.

I haven't driven a stick since college, but I remember those little trucks for self assist.
Worst experience was helping a friend start his car, back and forth the parking lot we went, the a-hole had the keys in his pocket. There might have been alcohol and/or it's favorite cousin involved... Lol
I learned to drive on a stick, always had a manual transmission until after two years commuting in the DC area traffic, too hard. Only time I drive one now is on trips to England and Europe--which have stopped for COVID. Even then, I have to reserve a manual from the rental car since they seem to cater to people who can't drive sticks. First time in England with a stick was tricky and I'm sure I caused some stares.
