On July 1st I sent out a flat box with two autographed pieces to an auction house in Phoenix from the western suburbs of Chicago by Priority mail two day delivery.

24 days later it still showed sitting here in Oswego where I dropped it off.

When I called they claimed that Phoenix was a hotspot and Covid had them down to bare bones workers and things were really slow.

I said, that is understandable, but the package is still showing 1300+ miles from Phoenix and your "slowdown".

They said, "Covid has far reaching implications" and that I couldn't pick up the package I shipped from my one-horse town over 3 weeks earlier nor put in a claim earlier than 30 days.

Yesterday, 36 days after shipping they called and said "good news, your package is heading in the right direction, it is in Indianapolis."

I asked her is she has a US Map nearby, she assured me that she did. I asked her to put me on speaker phone and to put a finger on Oswego Illinois and one finger on Indianapolis. Then.... kindly find Phoenix Arizona and tell me how the package that they have had for 36+ days is heading in the right direction when it went 3.5 hours southeast when it should be going WEST.

I ended up with a dialtone. hahaha

Not the first time I bet
    LOL!

Hey, that thing on your desk that is ringing, is a phone.

Ordered a shaft from Golf Galaxy 2 days ago, shipped via FedEx from NC, and the box was delivered this a.m.. If you re-read that sentence, you will find it says 'box'.....there was no shaft in it, just a ton of brown packing paper. The box is a 9" triangle box(visualize that for a golf shaft 😂 ) and had just a slip of tape holding it closed. Shaft could easily have slipped out when turned upside down, or a hand could just reach in and take it.

I contacted GG immediately, and another shaft is already on the way(or so they say), for Tues. delivery. We'll see.

My GW purchase still seems to be stuck at the Newark PO. I've put GW on the case. They ought to have some clout, if anyone does at the Newark PO.

Shipping 4 Wishon 771CSI irons to MN this morning. FedEx Home Delivery, printed label, boxed up 43"x4"x4", 6 lbs. $15. Dropping off in an hour. Bet they are there Tuesday/tomorrow maybe Wednesday at the latest. I will follow up.

Shipped a club Priority Mail on Thursday 8/6 to Southern California, 390 miles away. It's out for delivery today Monday 8/10.

My heads from Mattyv went from Arizona to California. I am east of Arizona. Going the wrong way folks.

candukid if they are going to canuckland, they'll go to an "international distribution center" first. The head I sent to @shokosugi went from Wisconsin to Miami to Canada. Used to be Chicago and then to Canada which makes a lot more sense! My package is moving along at a reasonable pace considering some of the other mentioned issues!

Package was delivered 12:03 PM CDT. Now that's fast.

“ Covid” is the new “9/11” excuse.

I have a curiosity question. When I ship USPS I weigh my package, print out the label on my PC and pay for it online. I paste it on and take it to the PO for an acceptance scan. I just wonder if the computer printed labels like I do are less likely to get mis-delivered than one that is hand written on the box?

Rickochet I just wonder if the computer printed labels like I do are less likely to get mis-delivered than one that is hand written on the box?

I just received a box from Candukid from Canada to PA with a hand written label
and it was fine and arrived in reasonable time. Who knows these days ????

Things might get worse as reports are the Postmaster General has been instructed to remove sorting machines .

Typhoon If it was just a regular letter or package, I'm not sure I would care really. But it was auction items for a charity event. The event is over without profit from my items which is sad, but I guess I am just hoping that the USPS would do something, anything. I mean, it has now been over 6 weeks and a claim has been put in per their allotted timeline. Nobody at the USPS can actually say where the package is after a month and a half, nor can they tell me if, when or if there is ever a possibility of it being delivered in my lifetime. Oddly, they have the lost package claim in hand but say that they cannot act on it until THEY "decide" on the fate of the package. Not a lot of businesses could get away with stuff like this.

SMT Mike from my experience from early April to present shipping USPS packages from the Chicago area Cook, Lake, DuPage, Will is a shot in the dark. I have had 2 club boxes held up for more than 3-4 weeks coming from that area. I won't take a chance with USPS and ship all clubs viz FedEx Ground/Home Delivery or 2 Day from West Coast. Cost is near same, tracking is good and I have not had one issue with FedEx that USPS has had with Covid issues. It's too bad on USPS but FedEx a for profit business seems to do better in my experience. Shipped 4 irons Madison, WI to Anoka, MN FedEx Home Delivery $15 arrived next day. I get shipments FedEx Ground Swing Science Indy to me Madison, WI next day every time. I won't take a chance.
