Say what you will about the P.O., but......

I discovered a huge mistake a short while ago when sending out tracking info to buyers from yesterday. I came across 2 labels, same tracking #, same address. WTF? Panic. Counting/sorting papers/checking PP shipping, etc.. Sent the guy a message telling him Merry Christmas. But, that means I sold 1 I no longer have to ship! Figuring the P.O. would not let the same tracking# through on 2 boxes, we called them. (after closing)They found the boxes, and then asked if I had another correct label ready. I quickly printed one and ran back to the P.O. and was met by the gal on the phone, with the 2 boxes. Slapped the new label on 1, and all is well.
Except for Sheldon. I felt like a monster telling him, no early Christmas; you gotta pay for everything in life today!

Par4QC - I have numerous examples of the USPS going far and beyond. Including my neighborhood carrier digging through packages on Christmas Eve trying to find a package with one of my daughter's presents that came in after his truck was loaded for the day. He was a saint.

I actually have a shipment outgoing who's tracking status is marked as "Arrived at UNKNOWN facility".

The iron heads that went thru Puerto Rico finally made it to CA.
The box that was scanned at "UNKNOWN FACILITY" is out for delivery.

      USPS Priority 3 Day = 2 weeks.

I ordered a Taylormade RBZ hybrid a few days ago. It took a day to go from Charlotte to Indianapolis; another day to go from Indy to Detroit; now it's been sitting in Detroit for TWO freaking days!!! (This is not the first time this has happened....!!! Is everybody sleeping in Detroit? ). WTH...??? 😡 😡

        fatshot

Detroit has been one of the stalling points in my recent experiences too. Could be there for "a while".

If you aren't mailing out 50 to 100 packages a month you really haven't seen anything in terms of horror stories.

        Hope dejoy is gone soon.

I've been shipping that much since Dec.. With rare exceptions, no problems. Shipped 15 boxes last Sat., all delivered Mon./Tues.. Shipped another 15 Mon., all delivered Wed., except 1. From CA to the East coast to the deep South. 10 days to Canada. This is getting to be 'normal' again. Got a box from AL in just 2 days this week also.
          I think we've rounded the corner. 🤔

we do about 75 a month on average and 5% end up in "limbo" at places like Jersey City, Chicago, ISCNY. The prototypical "black holes" where things sit without a scan/update for 2-3 weeks. Luckily only 1 thing lost, but the "damage" is that items usually end up on customer doorstep without an update after leaving the blackholes. So they aren't at home, it sits in the rain on their porch, or whatever. Really infuriating.
