DonM - one of the really good guys in my Monday golf group just took off for his winter home in Robson Ranch. When it's safe to travel again, I plan to visit them and will give you a heads up so we can tee it up together. They love the area and he tends to head to Tucson to find golf alternatives to the local club when he's looking for something different. Sorry for the thread jack...

No, that's great. Yeah, please do, I'm up for that. I golfed out there a couple of weeks ago. I went to their range the other day, it's beautiful. Our course is in a sale pending mode, and has been run down to dead grass and dirt. The prospective buyer has money and experience so we are hoping it works out.

OK, back to the mail woes.

Same complaint here....I'm waiting for a package of heads from Steve. Acc. to the USPS website, they were "In Transit for TEN days. Then yesterday the tracking changed to tell me that they had arrived in Toledo and were
'in transit' to my suburb (about a 15-20 minute drive, at best). This morning I got up expecting to see "Out For Delivery" on their tracking site. Nope.....still 'in transit' from Toledo. That mailman must be walking! I understand their problem, but still frustrating!!! We'll wait and see what today's mail brings...

I mailed a USPS International flat rate box today to Canada. Tic, toc........

DonM Hate to 1up you.... πŸ˜†. It was at my home P.O., to be delivered, 6 days ago. WTH?

I worked a few years, recently, doing 10-12 hr. days/7 days a week. Manual labor, dirty labor, on my hands/knees on concrete floors a lot, making a lot less per hour than the P.O. people do, with absolutely no benefits whatsoever. I was well into my 60's doing this.

WTF are the problems these pussies are having, with "doing their job, and doing it quickly/accurately"?????????

Yeah, "old school", that's me. And I get extremely pissed off with those that think differently. Fucking Unions. And pussies.

Fuckin' union backing, that's the problem.

I did that Monday. 4 days later it is 50 miles west at another USPS terminal.

Rex, the system is just more overloaded than it has ever been. I won't say that the USPS is perfect but online shopping due to covid has buried the USPS and they are shoveling it out the best they can.

Bravopilot Just wait til that pineapple moonshine hits the market. Everything will go straight to hell then.

Rickochet Yeah, yeah. I had some of those postal worker types as my co-workers when I was doing all of those hours/days. It's why I did them. Most times by myself.

I'm down to just 1 package still missing/enroute 'to it's destination'. I contacted the seller and they are on it now. In the meantime, they are sending out another package, asking that I return 1 if they both show up. I told them I would not; I will gladly purchase it when the time comes, even if not needed.

This kind of service pretty much boils down to the quality, integrity, attitude and work ethic of the employees. The system is old, but it works where the folks with "the right stuff" make it happen. We know our carrier in VA very well and she busts her ass to do her job right. On days she's off work, it's easy to tell. Our gal in Florida.....same deal. I occasionally use a different post office for some drop offs and feel like my package just got abandoned.

That helps for sure. But currently the issue is the biggest shipping season in history. You can only pump so much water out of a particular size pipe. All the services have plans for normal seasonal shipping seasons. This one is different. The system is just overwhelmed.

Well, you guys jinxed me. I've one I shipped on the 10th "delayed" somewhere.

I took a priority package for Canada to the PO last Monday. Tues it goes 30mi. east to Lexington then back the other direction 50 miles to Louisville. It sits in Louisville 4 days until yesterday and is on to the next stop to sit a another 4 days I guess.
