DonM These are the kind of greens that you have a lot of first putts where your miss is basically guaranteed to run down 20 feet below the hole.
There is 1 course here that has a Par 3 hole that the green in on a very severe slope...side of a hill, if you will. And I do mean very severe! You never, but never, want to hit past the flag, which of course I've done religiously. This is where I learned the 'toe shot' with a putter, and it worked great. Even when pin high, it is an otherworldly experience to hole the ball by hitting up the green, way behind the hole, & hoping it does not run off the front if you miss.
