Eguller, That Cobra was one I always wanted because it was long and loud. Knee, for years I used a Ping wooden 3 wood as my driver. I think I didn’t start hitting an actual driver well until I got a Wilson Graphite headed Whale from my neighbor who was a Wilson rep. I could kill that as well. Then I cracked the composite face twice and he got me the OG Wilson Titanium Whale( still have it ). That was a bomber as well. Maybe it was the Firestick 2.8 shaft that was the common denominator.

But that Ping 3 wood... I out drove everyone with that thing.

6.5* BOM with Assassin shaft at full Ld 50”, got a couple over 400 with it and ideal conditions. Oh what fun it was, now I cannot find that true LD swing. Still get decent drives, but no where near the good years.

yes sir! I think mine was a 9* though. With a GD YS6 shaft all black (if I remember right).

I used to have an SS350 Offset. One of my favorite ever.

This one currently has a Graf. Powerlite X in it at 7.5*. Haven't hit it in a loooong time.

Dan, that Powerlite had very thin walls. I had one in x flex and snapped it on the downswing.

OK, here's a component head that goes way back in time and most probably won't remember it. When I first started building my own clubs, I put together a Mercury Humongous head (9.5*?) with a Mercury stiff shaft. That was an incredibly long combo. Almost forgot about it since that was over 20+ years ago. There were so many great component heads back in the day and it was a fun time to experiment. Definitely miss those days...

gllama Stop it! you're making my brain ache. 😂 Made me think back to the first drivers I had that weren't wood. Had an Impex 300cc? on a Grafalloy ProLite shaft that was looong, when it didn't slice into the next county because of those damn shafts. It was a Hireko head that was a clone of the Deep Red. Then, of course, there was the Deep Red, with those goofy whip shafts, that were also extremely long hitting clubs. Just remembered I still have one....

One of my favorite heads (in 7°) with a 50" long drive shaft (I can't remember the name but it was purple and had a name like Longfellow or Long Tom something like that). It was kind of hard to control but if you had the patience to wait for the head and not get your hands in front, it really worked.

In no particular order. TourSwing Pure Ice 105 deg. 400cc. I've forgotten what TS shaft I had in it. Gave it to a former friend never to see it again. I never understood why Tim dropped that head from the line back then.

Golfsmith Hi-COR Plus 11.5 deg. 400cc on a SK Fiber Pure Energy.

Alpha Ver. 2 10.5 deg. 400cc on a Alpha Platinum shaft.

I didn't notice this before but all 3 are 400cc heads.

scotts33 I built that same GS Hi-COR combo for my dad years ago and he loved it. I thought is was great too if slowed my tempo I could kill that thing lol.
