colej Well, no, it's not that! He seldom gets to play at all during the summer and has a hard time breaking 90, at least when I'm around( save it, I don't wanna hear it!!). 😂 And he's had decent clubs before as I had built other sets for him.

      DonM My big thing lately is that I'm into weaker lofts. I think they help me. I'd rather my 37.5" club be 35 degrees than 24 or 28 degrees.

      Yep. It's been helping my game. I happened upon these Snake Eyes and Pursuit forgings and found that old school lofts are much better suited to my age and ability. High, soft landing shots. Plus, I built 'em! My 31 degree club is a hybrid, so I built the irons 7 to W and then 52 and 56 on the wedges. Old school.

        DonM The other contender is the Maltby PTM. I don't mind the price because if I like the irons, they'll be fully amortized by the time I get done with them. 🙂 But they are a 32 degree 7 iron, so somewhat marginal in my book.

              I'm wanting to try a bit less offset while retaining GI properties, and a medium sole, some bounce, with a friendly leading edge. What can you tell me about the FC One Pro Forged?

                  They are a Jeff Sheets design Don. I play FC-One irons on FC-One Ion graphite 50g shafts. TLT Series #7 2660 kg-cm ^ 2 target number toe down MoI heft match.

                  Smaller-medium players CB. Narrow sole pretty forgiving. The top line is slightly more than some forged heads.

                      That is a good looking stick. Does not look as if it has too much offset and the sole is not too wide.

                      They are so close to what I play now that I wouldn’t change for them.
                      As it is, I woke up this morning with another idea. 😏

                        I just wish they offered a swing science graphite Iron shaft that was heavier. I’d buy that from then too

                            Went out and hit a bucket o balls with the Pursuit blades in the Miyazaki shafts. Impressed with how EZ they are to launch. The blade length is longer than my Snake Eyes irons, but the sole width is significantly thinner. It is a larger face iron than the Snake Eyes. I found that choking down about 3/4" had me striking them pretty solid. They feel a little harsher than my Snake Eyes but our driving range is tight Bermuda on firm soil, where I our fairways are spongy soft zoysia. The Miyazakis are fine, but I'd say no better than the Acer shafts I have in the Snake Eyes. I must say, once out in the daylight, I do not like the color of the Miyazaki shafts.....I prefer black graphite iron shafts, believe it or not. As of now, I prefer the very buttery feel of the Snake Eyes irons, but I'll give the Pursuits a real go on Tuesday on course. Note: Pursuit heads are forged from 1035 Carbon steel, as opposed to 1025 in the Snake Eyes. I do not know how much that would affect feel.

                              I found the FC-One "A" driver to loud for me and I fibre-filled mine. The FC-One Plus 14* driver is much more solid and non adjustable which is why I would think.

                              The FC-One "A" 3 wood is solid and "hot" best SS head by far going away. I use it more and more off the tee.

                              Use the Legacy 400 Series 44" 80g in one of two flexes ARS or RSX depending on needs. It's a pretty stout shaft and flex as to how it's tipped.

                                Got 18 holes in today with my regular 4 some. Use the Pursuit blades. They are not as forgiving as the Snake Eyes off center, but they are just as easy to launch. I'd say feel is just not quite as buttery as the Snake Eyes, but they are made from a different carbon steel and have different shafts/grips, so.....
                                Most of my full shots today were with the 8, 9 and W and were solidly struck, high soft landing approaches. I teed off on a par 3 with the 7i and center struck it to about 4 feet and missed the birdie! My only other full shot with the 7i was my approach on #9 and I thinned it low but straight, short of the green. Chipped with the same club to about 6 inches and made par. My review is biased because my game is in the slot right now with my last 2 scores being 75 on my home course (67/133 P.B. Dye - The Gauntlet). Anyway - these are good solid heads!

                                    Thanks for the review Steve....I used to be an "iron snob," and thought I had the game to play blades. I had a couple of sets of Hogan Apex that I hit pretty well, but that was THEN! Now, I realize that the more forgiveness the irons offer, the better for me. Undercut cavities are my "new normal," and I'm satisfied with that. Back when Golfsmith owned the Snake Eyes name, I never tried any of their game improvement clubs. Wish they were still around, because my memory of them was that they were good looking and offered some GI designs. Maybe that will be my next "quest," to find an old set of those still in good shape and retro-fit them to suit my needs.

                                    Nice round, BTW! I managed a 79 myself, this morning and was pretty pleased with that....!
