NEW! Kirkland Signature Four-Piece Urethane Cover - Buy Now!
KSigs became available again today.....and promptly sold out quickly yet again.
sdandrea1 I've proven many times over that over spending on Golf balls does not help my scores. I have one box coming to me just to see what the fuss is all about.
You will like it a lot, playing it in a warmer weather. Especially at $30/2 doz. you will play this golf ball until the price gone up.
I'm guessing this 4 piece Urethane covered golf ball will move up one notch to a little higher price line and introducing the 3 piece ball at this price level. Very difficult to price a 3 piece ball from the same supplier much lower than the current price line.

I heard they sold out in about 30 minutes, and the website got so hammered that their servers were having issues. This is COSTCO we're talking about, and their servers couldn't keep up with people trying to order freaking golf balls! And this is the off-season! Absolutely insane.
Damn, seeing all these sales on eBay makes me want to sell the 9 boxes (18 dozen) that I bought! I only intended to buy 3 boxes, but I went to the website a few different times and added 3 to my cart, then never finished checkout - and I guess it kept the stuff from before in the cart because after I finally got around to submitting the order I noticed (after I already submitted it) that I bought 9 boxes. This was back right after they first came out, before the frenzy.
I could sell the 6 boxes (12 dozen) I ordered on accident for $50/dz which would net me $600 (minus fees), and that would more than cover the $290 (w/tax) that I paid for all of them plus a nice tidy profit!
Costco has a dedicated group working the web and the logistic of the flow of goods. their headquarter is in Issaquah across the street from the warehouse. a few years ago I was told there were over 300 in that group, could be larger now.
The experience they have is not uncommon with the crashing of the web site..... just too much traffic developing bottle neck, like in real life on the roadway.
This happens to any retail chain if the portal is jammed with too many users log on and refresh and log on again repeatedly.
If you have a better solution ( less cost ) to handle the issue, you will be rewarded handsomely. And I'll come work for you.

Why not ?
You can get some extra Christmas gifts.
Even if the price line had gone up you'll probably still ahead for a long time.
A commodity trader told me one time , maybe more than 30 years ago. It's no good hanging on to it, the movement makes the market. Plus you will keep 3 box for yourself and that's probably a few season's worth.
You will not see this kind of crazy price after the Holidays, remember the "Twinkies" incident ? Those Twinkies were selling as collectors item and soon the manufacturer decided to continue the product..... hoarders lost out.

I was thinking of selling one of the 2 doz I bought that are being delivered Tuesday, and then just buying more if I want them when they are more available. Especially since Pro Vs aren't the cat's ass for my game. An extra $50 towards ho-ing? Yes please :
Fail on Costco for cancelling the orders in que Tuesday morning and sending out the 'sorry' email. Then the very next day they offer more inventory available unannounced on their website. I am one of their 'executive club' members but I'll be downgrading that to the basic membership - if I renew at all. Bah Humbug....
Mine are being sent to the Florida casa. I'll be down there next week for the winter and hope to be released to play by the surgeon. My only concern is the ball possibly not being responsive to my slower swing speed. I'll promise you this - if I do not like them, I'll sell my unused ones at Costco pricing to any Golfbuzz member.
I compared the Basic and the Executive membership, one has rebate and one has none. Since we have a warehouse near by ( within 5 miles ), we shop there often and also gas up the vehicles while we are there. The near by Trader Joe's and Target store, Safeway, QFC, PCC..... complete the one trip shopping.
The rebate each year made sense for our family to have the Executive Membership not for any other reasons. It's a glorified name to offer rebate.
Had never had an issue with ordering from the Costco website, this golf ball fiasco was either lack of planning or planned way "too well" , an over kill.
The launch of the golf ball with lab testing result is probably orchestrated by the manufacturer, It was so well done, got all the media coverage they want from golf sites and more.
Of course we here and the other sites also contributed to the buying frenzy........

Haven't read the whole thread. Take this for what it's worth. Heard on PGA radio that MySpyGolf did a test with golfers and the Kirkland was ~ 9 yards longer than the Pro V1. On Dennis and Carl Paulson's show (PGA Radio) Dennis Paulson had heard that the Kirkland was a Taylormade patent that was bought by Costco. He mentioned the Nassau factory also. Costco as is known operates on a very low margin. So for example where many products may have a 30% to 40% margin elsewhere, they may operate on a 3% or 4% margin.
They said the average 10 capper won't improve by playing an expensive golf ball. So it's a no brainer if you like playing a premium ball and can get a ball with similar characteristics to a premium ball at a significant discount. I'm playing to ~ an 11handicap right now and play a $19.99 a dozen ball (Srixon Soft Feel). I play with a guy in our group who has a similar handicap and plays Pro V1's. I see no benefit that he gets with the premium ball.
Bottom line it sounds like a decent ball for the money. Carl Paulson said he'd like to see some independent robot testing. Like I said, take it for what it's worth......

I'll find out if they are longer soon. I play off an 11 cap as well and have using 2 piece balls forever. Every Pro V1 I found on the course felt great on impact but wasn't any longer. I did find that they needed a little more oomph off the putter face to reach the hole.
