I saw this several years ago and it popped up again. This version is from 2006 with the Danish Symphony Orchestra. Gary Brooker (singing here and wrote the music) died last year. Keith Reid who wrote the lyrics has said the lyrics are like a surreal painting where the listener hears whatever meaning they hear.
He overheard a woman in a group talking say, "she turned a whiter shade of pale" and he wrote the lyrics starting with that. I read where someone said this was John Lennon and Elton John's favorite song. Anyway, it's a classic from 1967 and this version will give you goosebumps. It did me.
