Lake Arrowhead Pines this morning, ~ 45 min frost delay, hoofed it. Beautiful course, fairly forgiving off the tee, but with big bunkers all over the place, and big greens that are challenging, angled and mini tiered. It's flat with little elevation change but nice rolling/sculpted terrain.
Tha plan was to head to play Portage Golf Club in the afternoon but the frost delay derailed that. I went and played the sister course The Lakes, vs Pines, it's tighter/narrower, not as majestic and big, lots of bunkers but just not as big, and the greens are more severe where the tiering is more defined with more slope. I prefer the Pines but the Lakes is also fun, where driver can bring in some trouble more often and is not always the prudent play.
Walked Pines in 2h30m, jumped on a replay rate and road the Lakes in 3h10m. Good fun. Decided to head to my favorite Brewery on the planet, Central Waters and enjoy a couple half snifters. Black Gold and Maple Fudge Black Gold. Good Lordπ€€. They had a food truck and I got a sope .....nice dense corn tortilla piled high with goodies. It's one of my favorite Mexican dishes and I was pleasantly surprised they had it on the menu!
