Signing a contract for a new roof today. Got a guy who works for a reputable roofer. The owner allows him on weekends to do roofs on his own. The owner even pulls the permit for him.
He'll come in (probably) next Saturday with the same crew from the roofer and knock it out in one day. Should be able to do it next Saturday. Got quotes that were $1300 to $7000 over this guys quote. The next lowest quote couldn't do it until July.
Getting Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles in Antique Silver. This is the original roof with just one ridge vent. He's going to put another ridge vent down the peak over the garage.
Would've loved to have gotten a metal roof, but couldn't justify the cost. If we were younger it would make sense.
