Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

We were talking to the woman across the street, she’s moving into a 55+ community. She’s gonna offer the new John Deere tractor with bags and snowblower attachment to the guy next door to her. He has one already, and she asked about mine and I told her it died a few weeks ago. Keeping my fingers crossed that he passes on it and she offers it to me at a reasonable price. Took me 2.5 hours to cut the lawn Friday night 🤬

I took delivery of about 3 cords of misc diameter and length hardwood yesterday. It took over a week and communicating with 2 different suppliers to make it happen. The wood got hung up in the dump body at 3 different times so after the guy lowered the bed I would climb up into it and manually move the logs around with both physical labor and my maul to dislodge things. Needless to say I was a tad sore this morning. 🙄

Today we did what ever the wife wanted to do so we drove down to Stoughton to hit IKEA and Costco. 🙄I just finished gripping the Fuji Pro XLR8 51 I got last week. I think this weekend is over.

I made a ridiculous offer on a reloading press that has missing parts yesterday. Found out late last night, they accepted my offer. He was asking 500, i offered 260. Press should be here at the end of the week. Most of what looks to be missing is the handle/ lever, a few locating buttons, a safety rod for the powder measure. It has a shell plate (not sure what for), it also has a tool head for the dies, a powder measure, primer system...
Then I get to take it apart, clean, grease, and discover what all I'll need to order from Dillon precision to make it work right. I figure I'll need the handle, 2 caliber conversions, maybe another powder measure, and a tool head, minimum
So today I deburred primer pockets of 60 pieces of 223 brass, and primed them.
I'm going to have to obtain more projectiles for 223, and 45 very soon.
Been kicking around the idea of a 6.5 grendel, just because... got a couple of buddies who have 6.5 Creedmoor and spend some time hitting steel out to 1640 yards...

Walterjn I have a bolt action chambered in 6.5 CM. It is so easy to shoot. It has very little recoil.

[deleted] my last g/f left her 7mm mag with me for safe keeping. I've gotten to run a box through it and love the performance. I just want a little less kick with similar performance, besides hers was built by her father hlwho has since passed, and i refuse to mess with it. Its hers, not mine.
Thw grendel will reach out to 1100 yards and is fantastic and enough for me to want to play with... I'm looking at doing a straight pull bolt action for it.

I was always semi-interested in that one, but was already invested in 6.8 SPC. The SPC is not made for long range, but I’m not much good beyond the distance I can drive a golf ball anyway.

7mm has a lot of zip. When I purchased my rifle a few years back Cabela's had this model on sale and originally I wanted it in 7mm Rem Mag, but when I got to the store the only one they had left was this 6.5 CM and that is because someone ordered 2 and left the store with only 1. I purchased it and love it. The Swedes have been running 6.5s for decades. I have a 4 - 12 Nikon on it and it's a great deer rifle.

[deleted] had one of those 6.5 swedes. Love that cartridge, never tried to push that cartridge too fast, it was in stock Mauser action.
I've reached out to Lantac to see about purchasing one of the straight pull bolts they do, along with a side charging upper, then build the 6.5 grendel. Should be a fun project.

2nd Monday in a row I’ve planned a day off work to play golf and it’s raining. Last week it was a deluge, so far this morning it is light. Hopefully it will clear out over the next two hours.

It's work around home day today. I've got to spray the dandelions and other wees in my lawn and then I have to get my old man garden ready for planting. I say old man garden because it's built up about 14" above the lawn height so I don't have to "stand upside down to plant and weed it. Sometimes it still feels too low down. It's just a small garden, or two small gardens to be exact. One is about 4' wide and 12' long and the other is a triangle with 5' and 6' sides. I plant and raise only onions, radish and tomatoes. That's all we want and need. I trimmed the hedges yesterday. Still on my "to do
list" are power washing and restaining our deck, getting the deck furniture out getting mulch and placing it into the flower gardens, etc. Doing all of this in between rain showers that seem to happen almost every day is hard to plan for. We still have to get my wife more flowers yet too. Guess who gets to plant and water them? I'd like to get some golf in also but between the rain showers and all of the rest of the things I have to do I'm not sure when I'll have the time. The
older I get, the longer it takes to do anything.

Did a little re-do on our metal garage doors.
Used a Gel stain and a Spar Urethane c/c....a lot of work but well worth it.

Also put a bronze tint film on the windows to hopefully make the garage a little cooler.

Posting while waiting for the fivesome on the 12th fairway. They’re actually playing at a decent pace though. Strange day through 12. 5 bogeys, 3 double bogeys, 2 birdies (back-to-back), and two pars. Front nine 42.

Worked a little this morning. Weird gym hours on Monday and since this is the Monday I have a long ride to stores, I skipped the gym. Got in a quick 9 before going to work the pro shop this afternoon.

On our way home from granddaughter's college graduation in Davidson, NC over the weekend. Spent 3 days in a rented house with son, DIL, DIL's parents (😞), and 3 grandchildren. Had a good time, but glad it's over. Stopped over at our daughter's house in Columbus to shorten the trip. Missing tomorrow's golf traveling group, but the weather's supposed to be rainy at home anyway, and my lawn will be ankle-deep by tomorrow!!

WFH this morning. Calling around checking on in-home care for my parents. They live < 30 minutes south of Hartford, but you'd think they live off the grid. Most have "no coverage for that area". Did find a couple candidates though.

Have to go to lawyer's this afternoon. Was hoping to Zoom call again since he is ~ 90 min away, but easier to sign stuff person.

Checking out an assisted living place after. My parents don't want that, but we heard this place was really good and it's near my brother's house.

Dropped out of 2-day member-member for this weekend 😥 I love this tournament (9 hole team match play event) but I have only played in it twice as something always comes up. I currently have no other plans, but no way I get 2 free days without something coming up and I hate to leave my partner hanging....he wants to sign us up for an upcoming 3-day event 🤣 😞

As you know we are going through the exact same thing now. I may have played twice in the last few weeks
when I had been playing 4-5 times a week earlier. I now understand Typhoon - 🙄😉

Eguller Sorry to hear of the woes Kcee and Eguller… yup, you just wait for the other shoe to drop every day and STILL say WTF!!! You have to resign yourself to just not playing so you’re not pissed about trying to get out.
