Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Trying to stick to a schedule so I don’t do too much. Noticed they gave me another store… makes no sense since the rep that had I has the one across the street.
Got to my first stop at 8:45, day was done by 9:45. Going to the gym for a couple hours, stop at the club to say hi and see what’s up for next week.
Got Roller Derby tomorrow nite!!

Typhoon something sounds very off about this route of yours...
Why in the hell do you have to drive all over hells half acre, and God's green earth to service these stores. Why do they have you hitting stores that are right across the street from another guy from the same company?
They couldn't just give you X amount of stores that are located in the 20 miles around you?? Or between the company and your home??

Walterjn oh it’s amazing Walter. So at my old job at Pepsi we would sit down and reengineer the routes. Me and the other rep knew where everyrhing was and if something was off, the drivers would tell us and we’d fix it…. Things like one guy across the street from each other.

This place is stupid behind the times. I had no input amd the guys that set up the routes are never out. We used to do the routes with guys sometimes, deliver equipment… we knows where everything was. These people don’t want our help. I gave my boss a few suggestions… offered to help… nothing. Nothing until I said to one of the other reps,” I’m done with this job amd the driving, time to move on.” All of the sudden my changes were done. This latest one…. Whatever

Rebuilding an old set of King Cobra 3100I/H irons for Jake's sister. She's 15 and a good athlete(soccer/v-ball) and 'kinda' wants to try golf.
Jake will do the teaching, not me. She may have a chance! 😁

Par4QC I love the looks of those. I know where 2 sets are, cheap, imo. Always tempted, but have yet to pull the trigger.

At the regional indoor percussion competition in Jackson, MS. Be back in two weeks for the state finals. Over the next four weekends I will drive 1500 miles or so. Living like Walter for awhile except I don’t have to tow a trailer.

Back in the mid 60’s Roller Derby was on TV. Joan Weston was the highest paid women’s athlete back then. It used to be on late Saturday night I believe.

fatshot it’s not too bad. Appears to be about a 4000 seat basketball arena with a dome ceiling about 100 feet high in the center. Maybe between 500 - 1000 watching at any given time. Just found out our school has a repeat performance for the finals. We got here at 10:00 am and won’t leave until sometime after 8:00 pm.

I was thinking about buying a new self-propelled lawn mower when I get my tax refund. Then two things happened....

I started looking at prices online....OMG!
I read some rave reviews of the one I've got: a Honda EZ Start. It literally starts the first pull EVERY time! So, instead, I went and bought a new set of mulching blades, new spark plug, new air filter, and installed them this morning. As usual, it started on the first pull after sitting in the shed since November! I'll change the oil later....
I just saved $500-$700 bucks.

Helped my dad pick up a bandsaw for the church's tool sale this morning.
Went and played a little golf.
Sanded a little on the chair I have taken apart.
And worked on attaching aluminum tubing to some flatish aluminum.

1st attempt, I have some various views of it, and the other attempts I have made.

This one was my last attempt for the night

None of them are fully water tight. The last one only seeps a little bit so far.
So, to those who know better, how is this looking so far? I'm using harbor freight low temp aluminum rod, and a propane torch.

Walterjn how is this looking so far?

If you're just practicing I'd start with a butt or lap weld, round is a little harder to do at first.
From what I can see you probably need to add/feed a little more rod to make the weld stronger.
This type of aluminum welding is more like brazing,it'll work but is not quite as strong as say TIG.
But TIG is really hard to get the hang of,that's why I went to using a spool gun for joining aluminum.
But if this is your first time doing this, it actually looks pretty good!👍
And any screw ups,a flap wheel comes in real handy!

There's a neighborhood pub that features an Irish music session for an afternoon every couple of weeks. The session is open to anyone who wants to join in. Our son is a very accomplished mandolin and flute player and joins in fairly regularly. Today my wife and I, along with my son, D-I-L and 4 month old grandson went. My son played music and the rest of us had a leisurely lunch. Well, my grandson didn't have lunch, he slept through it all. It was a fine afternoon.

darpar thank you, this is my 1st real aluminum welding. It does act more like brazing witch I like.
I can braze better than I can weld with a torch. I can run a wire feed, and get some decent welds for not doing it often enough, more practiceand I'll get it down and fairly pretty.
I did try a couple of butt welds with 2 of the flat pieces. I just learned that you can't re-apply heat to the part without the melted rod melting and going away.
I figured that I would have to work on round, so I would practice on round. I did make sure that the flat and tube are the same thickness. I cut off a little of the tubing and made it flat.
I do wish that I had oxy/acetylene, I think I might be able to get it down a little easier. A buddy mentioned the old guys who welded aluminum would run a dirty acetylene flame over their clean, and prepped parts for the soot. Apparently that soot goes away about 500-600°, about the temp you want to start adding rod to the aluminum.
I'll get there at some point, I'm wanting good joints that don't leak or seep water when I put some inside the tubing.

Going to Home Depot to get some cabinets etc. for our laundry room. Meeting our guy there that will do the job. He's also going to replace the door frame so it opens into the garage instead of into the laundry room.

Take out the tub sink. Move an electrical outlet from inside the room to outside the room. And then install a 24" wide pantry cabinet and two 24" wall cabinets with a shelf in between.

This is the same guy who did our tray ceiling in our kitchen and our new shower. Lucky to have a guy like him who can do all kinds of stuff that I wouldn't have any idea how to do.

Edit: Ended up at Lowe’s. Went with an 18” pantry cabinet and three 18” wall cabinets.

I gotta guy in VA we've been hiring for 15 years or so. He completely finished our basement in the house we just sold for half of what the builder wanted. He's licensed in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc. Best painter ever.

Correct me if I am wrong here. In Ontario, code is for garage doors to the interior of the house MUST be self closing and open into the house. This is to ensure they cannot be left open to allow fumes to enter the house.
