Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Our two granddaughters are staying with us while their mom and dad are celebrating their 20th Anniversary
with a trip to Hawaii. We're taking them to the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit today. One of them will enjoy
it....the other one may be bored....we'll see....

If that happens again. Shut your AC system off like you did, but turn on the fan (from auto). The warm air blowing over the coil will melt the ice quicker.

Sneakylong I did that. Just didn't mention it, but I turned the circulating fan on to keep warm air moving across the coils. Ended up paying almost $400 for 3 lbs. of Freon. I didn't realize it, but it's been at least 10 years since I've had any maintenance done on the system. Put reminders in my calendar to make sure I schedule a tune-up every other year now and to replace the filter every year.

johnnydoom Do you mean the intake filter inside your main indoor system? I change this monthly. Wondering if I'm missing something.

My inside motor on the air handler just went. My AC guy is down at the AC supply place to see if they have one in stock.

The unit is 9 years old. The motor may be under warranty because it’s less than 10 years old. If not fully then hopefully pro rated.

Well it was fully under the warranty. But shipping, service call and labor was $375.00. 😏

Bravopilot Yes. I don't think it needs to be changed monthly, but I really don't know. I've changed them yearly in the past and it didn't seem like they were in bad shape when I did. In this case, I went several years without changing and it was very dirty and clogged. I just simply forgot about changing it out. I'm sure it put a lot of stress on the system.

johnnydoom Appreciate the response. Also, not cheap as I get the highest-rated versions--Filtrete 2800, about $30 per. I need to re-check how often to change.

Bravopilot A quick check online - most seem to recommend replacing the filter every 90 days. Some say 30 - 90 days. I'm not sure it needs to be that often, but you are obviously closer to the recommendation than I am.

johnnydoom You can use the cheaper ones, just change every month. I do with mine, year round.

Also, hose out the coils every month during usage.

Day of frustration. Finishing up AS9100 audit. Lining up inspection of my car since some dillhole rear ended me last night. Trying to get my money from old HSA into new HSA....I think it would be easier if I just broke into the vault and stole the money 😡 Looking forward to golfing Sat & Sun. Playing 2 nice courses I haven't played in a while.
