Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Relax at our community pool. Cooking burgers, dogs, Italian Sausage. SWMBO'S baked beans are beyond awesome. Martin's Potato Rolls for buns, of course. Watermelon afterwards.

Happy Memorial Day Folks!

The Mrs and I spent the day washing blinds and smoking brisket!

To Hell with the blinds, here's the best $25 brisket you'll ever have.

Bought it at Aldi's for said price. 4+ lbs. Only seasoned with salt and pepper (plus my own secret rub).

Turned out Great! So tender it just pulled apart! And the wife said it was one of the best I've ever done!

I was Pleasantly Surprised at the results!

For the $$$, I'll try another soon! 😉

Last night we attended the concert put on by the Jazz/Swing Orchestra my son directs in the small town where he lives in Central Ohio......really good!! Today we watched his son, our grandson, in the marching band for the
Memorial Day parade. Cook out at son's house afterwards......fun, relaxing weekend! Happy Memorial Day!

Been employed at the same location for 32 yrs and 10 months. I was part if the original startup. Today (5/31/22) is the last day of commercial operation. It is shocking that I am part of shutdown. I will miss 33 full years by 24-days as my official day will be 6/30/22 (retirement).

It’s going to work out for me but I feel for both the younger guys and the 20+year guys short of 55 that cannot retire.

Very weird day……..

Sheepishly sitting under the ceiling fan while my house heats up. I’ve forgotten to change the air filter out for a lonnnnnnnng time and my system iced up. Turned it off, replaced the clogged filter, and now I’m waiting for all of the ice to melt off. Should be back in business in about an hour or so.

In the meantime, also waiting for the repair person to come and replace my garage door springs, one of which broke when I was out of town last week.

If that happens again. Shut your AC system off like you did, but turn on the fan (from auto). The warm air blowing over the coil will melt the ice quicker.

Two day after I finished replacing a toilet I jumped in the shower and the single handle faucet was locked up. It was quite a few years old and had been getting harder to turn on and off for quite awhile. It is a Moen and I had been planning of replacing the cartridge but hadn't gotten around to it. Trying to remove the cartridge the sumbich broke. So, off to Lowes for new tub/shower valve. They had another Moen that looked similar so I got that one hope I could just disconnect the fittings and pop the new one in. To get to it I had to empty out a full linen closet and pop the shelves out to get the access panel off. Fortunately years ago when I remodeled that bath I had to take most of the drywall down on the tub side to get to the old plumbing so I just covered that wall with a large sheet of plywood and put cleats for the wooden shelves on the ply. The shelves when installed hold the plywood against the wall and hide the 5' x 2' hole. I did make an access hatch to get to the shutoff valves. I also got rid of the steel plumbing and transitioned from the copper to PEX with new stainless 1/4 turn ball valves. So, the installing went as I hoped and all I had to do was to disconnect 4 fittings and slide the new valve in. No leaks (sort of) and no blood letting. Another miracle. One minor blip was that I forgot to tighten the nut for the tube that went from the valve to the shower head. It sprayed like crazing inside the closet and soaked the floor. I then noticed that I had not tightened the nut. So now all is well. This old geezer is tired of plumbing. Now for a nap then test drive the shower.

Went for some cryo therapy and normatec compression boot therapy on my legs. Wow that felt fantastic on my ankles and shins. 😃

Our two granddaughters are staying with us while their mom and dad are celebrating their 20th Anniversary
with a trip to Hawaii. We're taking them to the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit today. One of them will enjoy
it....the other one may be bored....we'll see....

Sneakylong I did that. Just didn't mention it, but I turned the circulating fan on to keep warm air moving across the coils. Ended up paying almost $400 for 3 lbs. of Freon. I didn't realize it, but it's been at least 10 years since I've had any maintenance done on the system. Put reminders in my calendar to make sure I schedule a tune-up every other year now and to replace the filter every year.

johnnydoom Do you mean the intake filter inside your main indoor system? I change this monthly. Wondering if I'm missing something.

My inside motor on the air handler just went. My AC guy is down at the AC supply place to see if they have one in stock.

The unit is 9 years old. The motor may be under warranty because it’s less than 10 years old. If not fully then hopefully pro rated.

Well it was fully under the warranty. But shipping, service call and labor was $375.00. 😏
