My parents have gone through 2 that have leaked…. And they leaked under the hardwood floor that then had to be replaced in 2 rooms. Sounds like you guys have been lucky. Hard water eats away at the fittings and you have nonidea what going on behind your fridge when the water is going under your floor.
I’m glad the solenoid is an easy fix… can’t imagine having to change the same part 3 times… that would tell me to say fuck it.
I have one inside my fridge but no thanks…I just use 2 ice trays. If I’m feeling like a Rockefeller I’ll buy a bag from the grocery store… a bit better quality than home made.
