fatshot chips are hard to get used to unless you are so technical and relate back to a clock..... i see the shot and hit it, which is hard to do on a sim. You do get a layout of the green and how it breaks, so on this sim you can use the computer to aim and then hit it straight or physically aim to the spot ... both methods will work. I don't trust my own aim on the Sim, so I use the computer to aim/align and just hit my shot down the middle.
Last sim putting was by the computer.....so you were at the mercy of Hal. This one today was two putt max, you know how far away you are, there is a grid with arrows so you know uphill/downhill and left/right break. 12 feet to the screen so that's the reference for putting. There is a black dot about a foot in front of the mat you hit from and that is where you putt from. 2 putt max which is fair given the circumstances. Hit your shot within 6 ft. From off the green it's a gimmie (this can be adjusted).
Last sim adjusted yardage for rough and fwy traps, this one does not. There are two spots on the side, one is rough, one is sand, they both stick up a touch to try and simulate, but obviously you can't simulate sand so I just hit flops green side. I did not use the little patch of rough.
There are some drawbacks obviously but it's fun, not real golf, but fun.
