Par4QC I just use the mower and am done with it. I did have to rake 1 time, ending up with 4 bags. All leaves come from the neighbors' trees which are getting to be dangerous; overhanging not just my drive, but the yard. The guy to the west of me has some ungawdly trees that do nothing but shed year round. The whole neighborhood does nothing but rake, seemingly 24/7 during Oct./Nov.. Bags are lined up at every house on pickup day. Not mine. A lot of idiots in this 'hood. Then, all summer, they pay to have their lawns fertilized, after paying the city to haul away the free fertilizer in the fall. Did I mention they are all idiots? ๐
I agree. I have the Toro ZT with the steering wheel. I use a mulching kit that turns the leaves into dust and leaves it in the lawn. Our city does not allow use of black trash bags so we can't bag our grass or leaves and curb them. We can use 30gal or less garbage cans but it would take too many for leaves. So, I mulch the leaves and grass to dust and it disappears into the lawn. We can rake leaves and pile them on the curb and the city vacuums them but as they sit in a pile waiting for the city they leaves blow everywhere. My neighborhood is 60 years old with mature maple and oak trees everywhere. I get 10 times more leaves from my neighbors trees than my little pear trees generate.
