Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

I clean mine every 3 months with the Acid. With our heat I have to run the pump about 10hrs a night to keep up with evaporation and chlorine production from the cell. My cell is about 3-4 years old now. Not sure how much more life is in it. I do love not having the chlorine smell and effects in the water. Salt pool is so much better on the eyes and skin. Another month or two and swimming season will be over and I can turn the pump down to 4 hrs a night.

Mattyv I run mine 12 hours during the day, 8am-8pm. Our pool is above ground and underside of the rail around the pool has rusted as well as some of the outside bottom shell of the pool from salt water. But we also like the easier maintain and the lack of chlorine smell.

Paperwork and some market watching this morning, maybe make a few trades. Golf with another 3 buds this afternoon.....sunny and 75* F with clear blue skies ....perfect day for golf !

Get used to it. That’s the future of golf. When I mentioned nobody walks... also the future of golf. I never saw such things before this year. I’ve seen shit golf in past years but not at the level where I just don’t even want to be out there myself anymore.... and I used to play 3-4 times a week.

It must be a regional thing. There is little difference in my area over past years. Crowds and higher rates on the weekends is why I don't play on weekends and holidays.

I have a buddy I play with once a week. Every time I complain about younger guys riding in carts he says,
"It's because they're PAYING TO RIDE that we can walk for a $15 Senior rate....!!" I have to admit he's right!!

Rickochet I can't believe the amount of players on the course every time I've gone this summer. The COVID shutdown we had earlier surely did not affect this year's bottom line for these courses. Never have they been this busy during the week. The weekends are no different than a Tuesday. Or vice versa. And the courses have cut maint. costs on top of it.

My course here and our courses in FL have memberships and allow public daily fee players. I have never seen the kind of amateur bullshit Rex and John are experiencing. Just lucky I guess. I have run into it at other courses.....dipshits with no clue or care about pace of play, but I've been fortunately sheltered.

Par4QC It's packed everywhere here too. I almost didn't rejoin my club this year, but they offered another deal late last year so I did. Turned out to be a great move. I get to tee off earlier and finish most rounds in under 4 hours and don't play behind the idiots that tee off after 10 or 11. Prices are higher now too. It's also really hard to get tee times anywhere. Who would have thought that a pandemic would revitalize golf? Also glad I bought the pop up golf net and some exercise equipment on sale this winter as you can't get that stuff now.

We should have raised at least cart fees. It’s been crazy. Weekdays are far busier than weekends... when has THAT ever been the norm?

The guys in the shop have all been there over 20 years and they said this year is like nothing they have ever seen. Everyday is AT LEAST double the amount of players from any other year. We have people making tee times for 7 pm... and it’s dark at 7:30. I left last night at 8 pm, it was pitch black and people were coming down #9.

Covid-19 has brought out many who have not played at all or haven't played in years. This is the main reason IMO for golfers that have no idea about pace of play, good golf etiquette, etc.

Although this may be a PITA for us full time golfers, it is probably a good thing for the golf industry as a whole. How many years have we been hearing about how the industry is dying off, more courses closing than opening and manufacturers shutting down. With all of these people coming back to the game hopefully there will be a healthy percentage of people sticking with it after COVID. Those that do will probably not be the ones affecting pace of play or if they are they will get better as they play more.

Agreed. Now the golf industry as a whole should be helping these kinds of new to the game or old/new players coming back to the game with tips and help on how to play the game at a decent pace. Golf courses are not helping the issue.

Mattyv Agreed. Although I was a bit chuffed, I did not even go into the clubhouse to complain. imo, It was not the golfers' faults, it was the clubhouse screwing up their reservation sheet, no question about it. Glad to see courses doing good what with all the courses around the area folding up.

Yep and then you piss off the golfers that expect to play 9 walking in 2 hours. It's a double edged sword. One can't have it both ways. Then you got the players that say I paid my greens fee I don't care how long it takes. You ain't playing thru and if I do 55 mph on the left lane on the Interstate screw you. I paid my taxes. 😀

Unfortunately that’s the mentality too...for real. I work there at a public non upscale course and that’s the attitude. They make a tee time but dont give shit if they’re late, they still expect you to get them out. The fact that you’re now imconveincing 5 groups by having to squeeze these people in never crosses their mind... they’re “ entitled”... they don’t give a shit. It’s sad.
