Rickochet Rickochet Yeah, you are right, scratch that idea. Maybe I will just soil my pants and call it a day. Well, I ended up going to Lowes for some drain cleaner that that my local Ace hardware manager recommended but he was out of it. Lowes showed 5 in stock. I drove across town to our only Lowes and guess what? They didn't have a single fucking one. How nice. The end to a perfect day. Shit. π‘
Ynotgolf Rickochet Never used one but have seen videos of the rubber bladder type drain openers. Harbor Freight has 2 sizes under $10.00. They are a rubber bladder that you hook to a water hose. They expand for a tight fit and your water pressure flushes out the clog.

Too much risk of water damage if there is a blow out.
Walterjn Ynotgolf works pretty good too... Depending on the clog, I have found that sometimes it's a good thing to be able to move that bladder back and forth to get a better attack at the clog...
Rickochet Walterjn works pretty good too... Depending on the clog, I have found that sometimes it's a good thing to be able to move that bladder back and forth to get a better attack at the clog... I just had a brain fart. In the drain line in the basement is a Fernco rubber coupling on the 2" drain line that was used years ago when a plumber augured out the line. The clog point was about 20' away in some elbows. Tomorrow I will adapt my wet vac 2" hose to the drain line and suck that sumbich out. MacGyver will get it done.
Par4QC Rickochet 20' away in some elbows. I'm no pro plumber, but WTH is there an elbow that far away?? No wonder you've had so many plumbing problems in that house.
Rickochet Par4QC I'm no pro plumber, but WTH is there an elbow that far away?? No wonder you've had so many plumbing problems in that house. 35 years ago I finished my basement and the only way to keep a bare drain line from showing below the dropped ceiling was to turn it down next to the HVAC race with two 90Β° elbows. I can get to the els from about 15' in both directions from under the sink and in my downstairs utility room. This is only the 2nd or 3rd time this has clogged in 35 years so it isn't that bad.
Typhoon Rickochet Eguller Carefull there ---- Typhoon is a Poop Pro. π€£ Yeah, you are right, scratch that idea. Maybe I will just soil my pants and call it a day Nobody works a poop shovel like me. Plus how to strategically load the shovel doing the soft pieces last that tend to stick to the front of the shovel to stop the hard pieces from rolling off. I should do YouTube videosβ¦ itβd go viral, Iβd have a TV show.
Bravopilot Typhoon Thought about your skills when driving by the large dairy farm on the outskirts of Las Cruces. Putting old with new.
LBlack14 No work, up @ 3:45, fun. It's a balmy, 52Β° outside, with a warm, humid breeze. Something different. Might go for a walk, might not.
Bravopilot LBlack14 Forgot to mention, for a relatively small place, there are 5 Walmarts. I may ask him for a job.
LBlack14 Hit MacD's instead of the walk. Pay and me need nourishment. Taking my Christmas boots back to Foot Locker, then heading up to the dispensary for some meds. Tunes and toddies, later.
Rickochet Kitchen plumbing job finished. I had a clogged sink Weds. night. Put some Green Gobbler drain clog dissolver in but stll clogged the next morning. Thurs. evening my wife made up a white vinegar/baking soda concoction and put it in the drain with pans of boiling water. This morning still clogged but I could get enough moving with a small accordion like plunger and got some hot water through it. I filled both bowls up with hot water and plunged the crap out of it and got both bowls empty then filled it back up with hot water and let it sit. 45 min. later more plunging bam, the clog came loose and both are flowing so no augering needed. Yay. Maybe I won't have another Typhoon like day but it is still early yet. π
Typhoon Rickochet No better feeling in the world than when something like that works so you donβt have to rip the thing apart or call a plumber!ππ
johnnydoom More rain. Rained most of yesterday, and now radar shows a 150 wide band moving in right now from the west. Going grocery shopping sometime today and then making supper for the family later. Watch a couple of college football games. π΄
Rickochet LBlack14 what're you shoving down the drain?!π Not me, the wife puts too much shit down the sink that shouldn't go. We used to have disposal but I took that out after she put a whole crockpot full of turkey chili that was awful thru the disposal and clogged up about 30' of 2" drain pipe. It sat and festered for 3 days while I worked on it. I finally got it broken loose but got drenched by a two inch brown stream that looked and smelled like shit. A memorable day. My friends still gig me to this day about the turkey chili event.
LBlack14 Rickochet Our garbage disposal doesn't work right now. We're supposed to be 2 months into a kitchen remodel so she don't want to replace it. She would shove anything down in that disposal and I told her that's what the garbage can was for. Then it quit, imagine that. I'm calling a plumber, John's full of shit, and I ain't talking about the kind you get with the scooper. ππ
Typhoon About to go out for poop detail. Finally got the area hosed down yesterday with the warmer temps. Filling the bird feeders, going to get the oil changed in the car, maybe get to pulling that shaft adapter. Got a few shafts to list for sale, hope to finally get to the golf course for an beer or 20. Been trying to get there for the last monthπ. Only open Thursday- Sunday. Dinner later at BBQ place where Nicks guitar teacher is playing.
